100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

I saw some new NYX lipgloss at the drugstore and their lip oil. I picked one of each and I think the shade of lipgloss is magic started but it’s a duochrome of pink and copper. It is better than I thought it would be. It feels a bit stickier going on but it stays out better and doesn’t pool to the corners of my mouth. It also doesn’t wear away as quickly after drinking. I wore it over too a lipliner. I haven’t tried the lip oil yet. Anyways for a hot summer day it performed well and even after eating a Dairy Queen blizzard lol it’s still there. NYX diamond drip.

@Samtian  Cedar looks much better on you than it does on me. 🙂 And haha, I wear a black v-neck t-shirt in probably 95% of my BIC photos, and always feel I have to say “it’s not the same t-shirt, I swear, I just have a lot of these!”

It just occurred to me to share in this thread all my Tuesday lip swatches of the new Sephora Clean Lip Mousse shades I received as gratis. So, cross-post from the Sephora gratis thread: 

“Hey WinglessOne, which shade do you like the least?”

Details: 

Spoiler

A. Peony: very streaky, weirdly patchy, and much thinner consistency than most other shades. Felt comfy—very emollient—but 3 coats couldn’t produce an evenly opaque coat. (Hard to tell in the photo, but trust me; I really fought with this one.) 

B. Tulip: too patchy; thicker and drier consistency than the others. 2 coats created opacity that turned into a pasty patchy mess as soon as my lips touched and parted. Felt very drying on my lips. 

C. Rose: a bit patchy, but felt comfy; might perform better with a lip primer. A single coat gave me a SMOKIN’ red. I hope I can make it behave later because that color... 

D. Carnation: no patches or streaks; bold, even, and opaque color in just one coat. And it’s very comfy to wear. I loved this blue based red so much, I didn’t want to remove it. Perfection. ❤️ I’m wear-testing this one today. So far it’s survived multiple cups of coffee and water despite lots of transfer. Feels just as comfy now as it did when I first applied it after brunch. No bleeding/feathering or yucky dry crumblies, and still plenty of bold even color. It’s wearing down very gradually and evenly. Here’s how it looks in natural daylight (photo taken today with no makeup aside from eyeshadow and lipstick): 

Also testing another Sephora gratis item, Clean Bouncy Eyeshadow Palette.

E. Orchid: ditto my notes on Carnation. My second favorite of these shades. 💜 

F. Dahlia: another winner, just like Carnation and Orchid. 🖤 

G. Mahogany: needed 2 coats for opacity, but felt very comfy with no patches or streaks. This is a good brown neutral lip for me. 🤎 The doe foot applicator on this one was a bit floppy, so it took more effort to get a clean outline. 

H. Cedar: another floppy doe foot + streaking + patchiness + yucky-on-me color = nope. 

Didn’t think I could hate a lip shade more than Cedar. I was wrong: 

I. Pine: ah, the ol’ washed out lips beige I loathe! This had all of Peony’s problems. If my life ever depends on me getting a clean application of Pine, you might as well just kill me and get it over with.   

Apparently my running list of lipsticks worn in this thread puts my post over the 20,001 character limit. 😄 So I’ll add a reply with that list.
