Hi BIC!
A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.
@RGbrown Nice! I almost bought an Uoma gloss to try, but I chose one of their bullets instead. I might pick up a gloss with Ulta points soon!
I couldn't decide, so I picked up a gloss and a bullet 😂
This one did decide to bleed, but I'm still curious enough about the formula and the overall comparison to the Lacquers that I might pick up a second shade at some point just to see if it's the temperamental purple pigment in this one, or if the overall formula is just a little more slippery than the Lancome.
MAC matte Lavender Jade
A pretty lavender that looks beautiful on you @heartsmyface ❤️🥰
This is a Givenchy mini something or other lipstick . It’s supposed to turn your lips your perfect shade of berry. Uh...no. 😄
I agree still pretty but not a berry shade @divaknits ❤️
Thanks @2manyperfumes ! I don’t know where they got berry out of this. The other mini is supposed to be pink. Seems like I wore it for the challenge, but I don’t remember. Maybe I’m confusing it with Frog Prince. I’m still wearing lipsticks that are new to the challenge. 😳 Will it ever end? 🤣
Lol no it will never end @divaknits because we have a slight problem of addiction on this thread ❤️🥰
It's still a gorgeous color on you! @divaknits
It’s definitely not berry @divaknits, but it does look pretty!
LA Splash Wickedly Divine Liquid Lipstick In Runic. It’s a liquid matte that looks somewhere between periwinkle and violet on me in real life, and it has a very subtle teal shift. I’m wearing it over my usual liquid matte base of Aquaphor and MAC Prep + Prime Lip. I always line my lips before applying a liquid matte; tonight I used MUFE Artist Color Pencil in Blue Anyway.
I know I said I’ve sworn off trying more liquid mattes. But I’ve stalked the LA Splash matte shades for a long time. I found a few of them during my last Riley Rose store visit and bought one. This photo was taken after a cup of coffee and there’s zero transfer on my mug, though on my lips I do see a tiny bit of flaking at one corner. I can’t say Runic doesn’t feel drying at all—it’s a liquid matte, after all—but it’s surprisingly tolerable for me. My lips don’t feel like the Sahara: no grittiness or painful dryness. This might be the 3rd liquid matte formula I can comfortably wear.
About that teal shift: you know how some liquid mattes crack when you smile, resulting in vertical stripes? With Runic, the teal fills in the cracks, and I kinda like that! I tried to capture it under beauty lighting:
I’m gonna buy a second LA Splash matte. 🙂 If the second one performs this well or even better, I’ll be a very happy camper. Meanwhile I still need to put Runic through the food test, which I do for all liquid mattes. I also want to try it under gloss. Might update this later.
That is a brilliant bold and daring shade that looks amazing on you @WinglessOne ❤️🥰 I’m curious to see what other shade you’ll pick out from LA Splash
That is terrific filling in of the cracks with the teal. What a unique color shift. Of course it looks amazing on you :). Yesterday, I went to CC Store in Off Saks Ave for Liptensity and the only unique color besides black I found ( already had dupes for the pink/reds/browns) was a purple-y gray kind of in that color range. It's called Grey Galaxy, I think? Something with galaxy in it. @WinglessOne
Thanks @Buootiful! And I know which Liptensity shades you’re talking about 🙂: Stallion, one of my favorite black lipsticks ever, and Galaxy Grey. I don’t have the Galaxy Grey bullet but I do have the lip liner. It’s a cool toned grey lavender. Quite a unique shade among the sea of grey beiges and bolder lavenders/orchids out there.
