Hi BIC!
A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.
By Terry Terrybly Velvet Rouge in Bohemian Plum. Put it on around 7 AM to show someone how much it transfers vs. how pigmented it remains on my lips. I’m so amused by my early morning zero sleep (insomnia again) photos, with no other makeup or even my AM skincare routine done, I can’t help but share one here.
This is the second of 2 Velvet Rouge shades I own. (I wore the other one earlier in this thread.) These are liquid satins that never fully dry down. They’re comfy enough for me to wear with no balm underneath. This one does feather a tiny bit on my bottom lip after coffee, but I’m sure a liner can help prevent that. My only problem with these, and all other By Terry lip products, is the smaste effect. It does disappear after a few minutes with these Velvet Rouges, but I wish these weren’t scented at all.
Obviously this will be removed whenever I finally do my morning skincare and take a shower, so I’ll probably wear a different lipstick later today.
Pretty color, but that’s some serious transfer @WinglessOne .
Thanks @divaknits! As long as that much color stays on my lips, I don’t care how much transfer there is. 😄
It's a gorgouse color 🙂 I dont think there is a way to avoid transfer 😞 @WinglessOne
Thanks @Buootiful! Yeah, the only way to avoid transfer is to use a liquid matte. And even some of those transfer a tiny bit. 😄
Yeah, mine transfers no matter what. I have given up looking for one that doesnt. UD had one but it has cyclopentasiloxane and I try to avoid that ingredient since the CP mascara debacle. @WinglessOne
@WinglessOneUgh I love that color, but I can't stand transfer haha.
@Samtian Heh, I definitely don’t recommend these liquid satins to anyone who hates transfer. 😂
Thanks @Weetart ! If this is the forced happy face coworkers and direct reports saw whenever I had to join an early morning meeting in person or via video conference, no wonder they always tried not to give me bad news before 9 AM. 😂🤣
You look good even when you lack sleep @WinglessOne ! And this is a really nice shade!
@WinglessOne Wow that’s insane. I was going to say to bad it transfers like that but it least it doesn’t look like it transferred.
@ather Yeah, the transfer on these is scary! But somehow the color stays strongly pigmented on my lips. And I only applied one coat. 😮
Lots of transfer doesn’t bother me unless no color remains on my lips. Or okay, also if I’m at someone’s dinner party and don’t wanna stain their cloth napkins with my lipstick. But I’ve worn bullets for so many years (decades), I’m very used to and unfazed by transfer. 🙂 Still, I’m always impressed when a lipstick transfers so much yet still looks freshly applied on me. I’ve been waiting for these liquid satins to go on sale again somewhere—preferably a deeper sale than Dermstore’s current 20% off all of these—because they aren’t cheap. I want at least one more shade.
@WinglessOne That makes sense. Transfer scares me but that’s because I’m the girl with lipstick all over my face because I rub my face like crazy.
