Hi BIC!
A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.
They do clean off easily @Girly2Shoes . I don’t think I even use makeup remover. It pretty much comes off when I wash my face.
I think it’s perfect - love the lip stories @divaknits ❤️ Just the right shade.
I have to try some of the fun shades, @2manyperfumes , and post them.
I think this is a great lilac on you. Sure, it’s not super bold, but something about the softer color works very well with your skin tone. And now that I think about it, I have more Lipstories than I realized. 😄 I might repeat the green one soon.
The first bold lilac that comes to mind is really more of a pale (but highly pigmented) grey lilac and, unfortunately, it’s a hard-to-find MAC Liptensity shade: Galaxy Grey. Urban Decay Vice (cream bullet) in Twitch is another full pigmentation option; I have that one but haven’t worn it yet.
Oh, I see that Macy’s has Galaxy Grey! They’re charging full price for it, though. Bloomingdales has the Galaxy Grey lip liner marked down, so of course I ordered one. 😂 Not to enable you but, you know, if you’re thinking of adding an unconventional Liptensity shade to your collection, Macy’s has this one and Blue Beat. Bloomies also has Blue Beat, which is where I bought my backup.
Come on @WinglessOne, you know you started enabling me as soon as you said the word “Liptensity.” 😄 I’ll check those options. I don’t understand why they’re still selling them at full price since the line is going bye-bye. Must be wildly popular colors.
It is very light, but still shows a lilac color @divaknits and like you said, at $8 it’s hard to complain! Looks good on you. I actually haven’t bought a single one of these *gasp* I really like the packaging on them. I might have to pick one up next paycheck.
I think they’re worthy it @Weetart . I don’t know why I turned my nose up at these for so long. My favorite so far is the special Love Is Love red for Pride Month. I’d probably be in that one a lot if it weren’t for the fact that I’m still going through lipsticks for this challenge. I’d be done if I didn’t keep buying them. 😄
I think I have this one @Weetart very pretty on you. I like them. They don’t last the longest but I don’t care. Very nice 🥰 I think I have candied Guava and another shade too.
@Weetart I might be the only person who doesn’t have Glacé. 😄 It looks great on you! I like Bite Matte Crayons because they don’t bleed like many of the cream bullets do, yet they’re not super drying on the lips. This one looks creamy and comfy on you.
I don't have it either, @WinglessOne , I find Bite lipsticks hard to clean off without staining my lips.
@Girly2Shoes My method of removing Bite bullet stains: apply Vaseline, let it sit for 3-5 minutes, then wipe off with a damp cotton round. (My “cotton rounds” are reusable fabric bamboo/cotton blend rounds, but a disposable or paper towel will do.) If that doesn’t remove it all, I put micellar water on a round and hold it against my lips for 30-60 seconds, then wipe.
You could keep a pack of micellar makeup wipes in your stash for this. Garnier and Simple make good ones. 🙂 one of those wipes might be all you need to remove a Bite stain. Just be sure to gently press it on your lips for a minute before wiping.
@WinglessOne Reusable cotton rounds? Didn't know it existed!!! 😯 Which company makes that? Or where can one find them?
@MlleJuju I bought mine on Amazon. I found them while searching for a wall-hung cotton round dispenser. 🙂 Here’s what mine look like. The velour ones are bamboo; the terrycloth ones are a blend of cotton and bamboo. Both types are softer than a typical cotton terry washcloth.
If you search Amazon or Google for “reusable cotton rounds,” you’ll find many options. Just make sure they’re 2- or 3-ply and have stitching down the middle to hold the layers together. I rinse them after use and drop them into the mesh bags they came with (I keep the bags hung on my towel bar). I machine wash and dry them with my microfiber bath towels and workout clothes (no fabric softener; I use wool dryer balls instead) and they turn out just fine.
