Hi BIC!
A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.
Thanks @MamaMer ! Iโm glad you love the Lacquers! Which shades did you get?
About Pat McGrath lipsticks: when it comes to true shade colors, donโt trust the product photos at PMG direct or Sephora. Look for peopleโs swatches or, better yet, swatch some testers in person if youโve got a local store that carries PMG.
LuxeTrance - My favorite PMG lipstick formula. Creamy, comfy, great pigmentation, and long lasting. These are rockstars. Of the shades I own, my favorite is still the warm tomatoey McGrath Muse, followed closely by Wrecked. I hope the LuxeTrance line is permanent and the shade range continues to be expanded. If Pat released a blue, teal, dark green, or black LuxeTrance, Iโd buy it (or all of those shades, really) without hesitation.
MatteTrance - Also highly pigmented and long lasting, with a velvet matte finish that doesnโt turn my lips into desert sand. No gritty crumblies as the color wears down throughout the day. My favorite shade is the one I recommend to everyone: Elson, a truly universal red that looks fantastic on everyone. That shadeโs in one of the 2 sets of MatteTrance minis, which are a good way to try this line.
BlitzTrance - If youโre a sparkly shimmer fan, you need these in your life. Theyโre basically LuxeTrances with glitter. I havenโt worn any of mine in this thread yet for some reason; this is me reminding myself to do that. ๐ The new red shade, Blood Rush, is GORGEOUS and it took a serious amount of willpower to not buy it for myself during my last Sephora store visit. (I bought Flesh 3 instead.)
Lip Fetish - Some folks donโt like these balms, but I love โem. Theyโre some of the most pigmented balms Iโve ever worn. Theyโre not Luxe/Matte/BlitzTrance pigmentedโI mean, theyโre balms after allโand I think some people have the wrong expectations. ๐ These are supremely comfy on the lips. I never have to wear lip balm under these and they never dry my lips out. They wear down easily, but show me a tinted balm that doesnโt. I wish these came in mini sizes so I could always keep a couple in my purse/bag.
Lust Gloss - I like these, but theyโre honestly not my favorite glosses to wear alone. I like to wear these over a full base coat of lip pencil to boost and even out their color. (When I do that, I also lay down a perimeter barrier of lip primer for bleed/feather insurance.) When these glosses are worn alone, I find the color tends to pool into my lip lines, creating a striped effect. I have to rub my lips together every so often to redistribute the color. On a more positive note, these glosses are just slightly tacky/sticky, so your lips wonโt feel glued together all day.
Hope this was helpful!
Thanks @lmaster ! โบ๏ธ
@WinglessOne Both of these look great on you, but I love the Colourpop Brick with the Lancome topper!! So pretty and one I'll have to try. I've never tried Colourpop, so thanks for sharing!! Love it!!๐
Thanks @yankeefaithful ! I highly recommend the ColourPop Lux bullets. Theyโre a steal at $7 USD (even less if you catch one of CPโs sales, though they do have a free shipping minimum); Iโd happily pay triple that price for one of these. And they come in a fantastic range of colors.
Day 87- Trestique matte lip crayon in Belize Bordeaux.
@faeriegirl another beautiful colour! You have such a huge lipstick stash!
Thank you @ather! A lot of them Iโve been getting in subscription boxes and some are samples.
I like this shade a lot @faeriegirl - perfect โค๏ธ
@faeriegirl you've also returned to rookie status...
@faeriegirl Another beautiful shade, made even moreso by your beautiful smile. โค๏ธ
Another great and long wearing ultra suede by NYX in shade Cold Brew. Seems I love browns lol, plus I liked the red called Spicy so I picked that up too to wear on another occasion. These suede mattes are creamy smooth and last all day. I think I have 5 now. Love the formula (works for me).
