Hi BIC!
A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.
What makes you say that about Buxom @faeriegirl ? I won't wear their products as the plumping burning tingle is horrible. Is it that or something else?
@sprocketta I definitely don’t like the tingling from the plumping ones. I also don’t like how thick and hard to apply the are.
@faeriegirl I'm totally with you on the tingling. I went into a Sephora and put on a sample of the lip polish in Dolly. Perfect shade, looked great. Bought it and walked out into the mall. Before I got to the parking lot, my lips were on fire! I had to turn around and return it and even with a makeup remover wipe, my poor lips were burning.
It looks pretty @faeriegirl , but I understand. I’m not a fan of their formula either.
Pretty on you @faeriegirl I like it better than the other one. The shade suits you better ❤️ I like the Sexy Mother Pucker glosses but I forgot who makes them.
That is definitely what I don’t like about it is how sticky it feels @lmaster 😊
Melt Lipstick in Mota, topped with Fenty Gloss Bomb in Diamond Milk. On its own, Mota is more ✨sparkly✨ than I expected, and this photo doesn’t do it justice. Sure, I saw the glitter in the bullet, but I didn’t expect so much to appear on my lips. 😄 (It’s not PMG BlitzTrance sparky, but still.) I should’ve taken a photo before I glossed it. For a matte bullet full of glitter, Mota is surprisingly comfy: not emollient, but nowhere near drying. It’s so lightweight on its own, I wouldn’t know I was wearing it if I hadn’t topped it with gloss bomb (which I can always feel).
See how and where it wore away in that photo? Mota does that on its own (with no gloss topper), too. With gloss, I can rub my lips together to redistribute color; that’s less successful with no gloss. I didn’t use a lip primer base or lip pencil with this, but I think either—especially the former—might help keep more color in place. Will try that later. Elsewhere on my lips, it sat like a rock (um, in the good tattoo chair way) under gloss until I started drinking coffee. One cup later, it began to feather due to the gloss topper. It doesn’t feather at all on its own, and I think I can stop the gloss-topped bleed with lip primer. Mota doesn’t get goopy under Gloss Bomb, unlike some other mattes.
Overall, I’m impressed! This makes me wanna try more Melt bullets, especially if they all sit this well under gloss.
@WinglessOne love this bold lip with a muted look!! Sorry you have been flushing glitter out. Hopefully it all comes out!! Nothing worse then a scratch in your eye!
Thanks @ather! Pretty sure all the glitter’s out now, thank goodness. 🙂
Looks lovely on you @WinglessOne and it's nice to see a review of the Melt lip products. All their eyeshadows look great but I have absolutely no way to justify buying more eye makeup as I wear so little of it.
Thanks @sprocketta ! I was at the North Ave Sephora today and they have a tester of the brand new Melt palette... Impulsive, I think that’s the palette name. They don’t have any other Melt items in stock (doesn’t surprise me, not for that store). But I was able to play with that palette a bit: swatched and blended a few shades on my hand. I’m not quite sure how I feel about it yet. Need to play with it some more, preferably with a shader brush, because a couple of the mattes acted weird during finger swatching. Anyway, I’m sure the Michigan Ave store has some Melt; I haven’t been there lately to check.
I don’t wear eyeshadow daily, or even weekly. Yet I still seem to have a lot of eyeshadow. 😂
@Weetart I hope I can get these Melt bullets to stay put a bit longer in that spot. Usually lip primer or a bit of lip pencil, only in that area (not necessary to coat my whole lip with it), works well. It it doesn’t work for Mota, then I might not buy more after all. We’ll see!
Love this shade @WinglessOne I was looking at it and I’m so glad that I see it. It looks awesome 👏 I have 4 Melt bullet lipsticks and they are good. Remind me of MAC. Sigh another colour I’ll probably get from Melt. On my list is Glazed Pecan, Tomboy and Mota.
