100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

The bad news...Carbon is a bleeder 😞 I know that's not nearly as big an objection for you as it is me, but I checked it somewhere around 20-30 minutes after application, and I had little spider legs radiating out from both top and bottom lips. The good news though...it wears down exceptionally well and stays soft so you can smoosh it back around a bit when the center gets lighter.

I'm not a fan of bleeders in general, but I'm actually going to keep this for now and try again. I tried to apply a clear lip liner after cleaning up some of the feathering, but that was less than successful (as is normal for me), but I'm going to give it a whirl another day with a primer and/or liner underneath it...I think this shade might be worthwhile enough to live with the extra effort 😄

I'm debating going back for Daphne now that I've seen your pic...I ordered Ovid, but passed on any others. Sigh. This thread is horrible for my wallet 😛

(I don't think I can get anywhere near enough stuff to make free shipping again though, so hopefully the "want want want" will pass 😛 )

@RGbrown Bleeding is actually what I worried about with Carbon. I tolerate bleeding/feathering only if I can stop it with a liner/primer (which I guess isn’t really tolerating it at all 🤣), or if the feathering’s so minimal it can’t be seen unless you’re standing right in front of me with a magnifying glass. Sounds like this might be a problem child, but maybe not with a black or dark purple liner + some lip primer insurance. Good to know it stays soft; it might be worth the extra effort to stop the bleed. 🙂 

And I hear you: I’m tempted to go back to get Eros, which I avoided because I probably (okay, definitely) don’t need another fuchsia. But seeing how my lip color(s) affect Daphne, I can kinda picture how Eros might look on me, and it might be different enough to justify another purchase. I’m also not sure I can meet the shipping minimum this time. But that won’t stop me from trying. 😂

Ah, yeah, I worded that poorly...you're more willing to mess with a liner/primer than I am...any lippie that *requires* two steps is pretty much immediately destashed around here. I am l-a-z-y when it comes to that 😛

I really appreciate that about all of your lip products and posts @RGbrown - I want a product that works on its own too so when you approve of something I know it doesn't require any extra steps.

Good for you @RGbrown. That's why I only do mascara for my eyes. I don't have the patience for that either. Lazy makeup is my only way. 😂

The reality is that I only have patience for doing a full face once or twice a week (or even less lately...winter has me in a bit of a funk)...if I'm gonna do it though, I'm going all out 🤣 If I worked outside the house, I'd probably find a quicker daily routine, but mostly I just sit around home in lipstick for now 😋

Day 43: AERIN x Johanna Cortiz in Cartagena Sunsets. I’m in LOVE with this one! I wanted to try the other collars she did since I tried the first a few months ago and I am not disappointed! Beautiful, bright orange but not too bold, it’s just right! Very comfortable even without balm underneath, due to the moisturizing skincare they have in it. Semi matte finish. I couldn’t stop looking at myself in the desk mirror! Definitely a keeper!

@Krysa13 Thank you! Yeah AERIN has one of my favorite lip conditioners- AERIN - Rose Lip Conditioner. I looked up her website one day and there they were- she has her collabs and her own bullet lipsticks as well! And so far they are really nice, comfortable and pretty, and long wearing!

@JessLess Thank you! Yeah orange was one I was a bit afraid to try but since I started this challenge I've branched out into colors I didn't even know looked good on me! This is my second orange and surprisingly they look great! This one is a bit brighter than my other but both are pretty in their own way! ❤️

Day 86. Inching closer to the finish line with Givenchy Gloss Interdidt Revelateur in 12 Rouge Thriller. Whoa. Hot stuff. This gloss is gorgeous and looks super sexy. Need to see how it wears though. I really hope this doesn't smear as it seems like it could.

Thanks @Krysa13  I'm a gloss girl at heart.  I was surprised how much pigment this had.  It did smear a little when I ate but it's totally worth it.
