100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

Thank you my dear @Buootiful  You are too kind.  WAY too kind.  It held up okay, but it's still a lip gloss so it handled a little food but smeared a bit after.  The look is still worth it, though.

WOW @sprocketta... I mean, WOW. 😍 I’m very interested to hear your thoughts on how this performed. It looks stunning! And I love that you paired it with a black and white look.

It did decently @WinglessOne  The shine and color stayed vibrant for a couple hours until I ate something.  It held up decently but it smeared a little, so it's not a holy grail.  But I'm very tempted to purchase it because it just knocked my socks off.  I was terrified of getting it on that white shirt, though.

So this is a bit of a botched lippie that I wasn’t expecting, and I’m a bit upset that it was this bad so I think I won’t be adding this to the daily challenge but just wanted to show you all. Huda Beauty Holiday Contour and Strobe Lip Set In Heartbreaker and Shameless. First the lip liner started off streaky which took a few tries to get my whole lips good enough and covered. Then the liquid lip was WAY too liquidy and applied horribly, smearing and hard to apply well to look good- and completely ruined my Cupid’s bow and outline of my top lip I had worked on with the liner. And when I tried to clean the smeared edges up they just smeared red stains everywhere. Ugh. Best part was probably the strobe gloss-very pretty, mostly pink sparkle but dries down so you don’t see much unless under a flash light. And then to add even more fun, I dropped the liquid lip with it OPEN and it got on my brand new shirt! Ugh. I dabbed a makeup wipe on it and then stood at the work sink dabbing soap on it then rubbing the shirt together to get it out. I got most of it out and I bet the rest will with some stain remover when I get home later. So far- not impressed and I don’t think this is worth the money right now. Not sure if I want to try again later either and I don’t know if I want to waste most of the 25 bucks just to keep the strobe gloss as well. I’m almost out of my return window so I have to decide fast. And after I post this I’m immediately taking it off LOL. I will do my daily one in a bit ✌️

@SnugglePuggle94 omg nooooo I’m so sorry it ended up like this!! Definitely a return - there are so many other products that you don’t have to work nearly as hard for to get it to work. I have one Huda lip product, which is a lip strobe. I picked it up in a SF set. While I do like the effect it has, not sure I’d purchase it on its own. Do you find the tube was actually full? Mine looked full but a few Swipes around the tube and you can tell it’s fairly empty 😒 sorry Huda but thank u, next 💁🏽‍♀️

@cianni Unfortunately I didn't look to see how full it was before I packed it up and sent it off in the mail today. I needed to get it off as fast as I could so I went ahead and sent it. But yea it was just an awful mess so I'm glad it's gone.

@cianni Haha don't I know it lol I've been looking for a red to replace it and my mind is blown with all the reds and I'm having a hard time finding the right ruby kind of color that's the most similar! Eek!

Oh my @SnugglePuggle94  Not clean edges at all.  I'm sorry it was such a disappointment.  I have a similar set from last year with Trophy Wife and Shameless and never had an issue with it.  I have, however, read that Huda liquid lipstick quality is different in some sets than the regular full size.  Either way, I'm sorry you were left unhappy.

@sprocketta Yeah I'm not happy with it. I couldn't get any clean edges and it just smears when I tried to use my LASHFOOD - Chamomile Makeup Eraser Penon it which usually works fine with most lipsticks so I gave up after wiping a bit with my finger. 

 I'm not sure if I knew this when I bought it in December but Huda has a bit of a scandal going on with copying/stealing beauty products from Beauty Bakery so I'm not sure I want to support a company that does that either, no matter how much I like the strobe gloss. 

I think it's best I return it and use my money on something else like ColourPop or Givenchy.

@SnugglePuggle94 It’s really Beauty Bakerie’s overall bakery/food/sweets theme that Huda seems to have copied for some of their products. A friend asked me about it last month, knowing I usually ignore beauty gossip/drama/whatever—but this one’s such an obvious case... I mean, I was browsing upcoming release content online one day and came across Huda’s kitchen/bakery themed promo photos, and immediately thought “oh hi there, Beauty Bakerie imposter!” 😄 I know a few folks who are done with Huda over this, and I respect anyone’s personal choice to boycott brands for reasons like this. 

Whether or not you boycott the brand, I’d definitely boycott that lip set! That’s really too bad because the resulting ruby color is gorgeous on you. The only way I’ve found to stop chronic bleeders like that is to use both a lip liner and a perimeter of lip primer as a barrier. And even then, some glosses will still feather or bleed. 😞 Hope you find something better to replace this with.

@WinglessOne That's what it was, the bakery sweets theme. I couldn't remember at the time lol. But yeah I think that's not cool and Huda will not be receiving anymore of my business.

I think I might just look for a nice ruby color to replace this set with then! It is pretty I'll give it that!

Day 45! Bite The Lip Pencil in 046. I love wearing these on their own because I find the staying power pretty good, and it’s comfortable. I picked this up when I was in search of a true brown lip, although this doesn’t really classify as that haha. I forgot how much I liked it!!

also - for everyone saying scrunchies are “making a comeback”..... for some of us they never went out of style 😂 #teamscrunchieforever

Love this look altogether! I usually use the Bite lip pencil as a lip liner and hadn’t thought of using it alone. This is a great idea and you look superb! 👍🏼 @cianni
