100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

So ladies and gents,  have $100 I got from using my Rouge points. I’m determined to

spend much of  it (if not all) on lipsticks (like I don’t have enough. The collection has gone over 100 in the past week.) Sooo what’s hot out there right now? I have a super

bright orange (which gave my fiancé a heart attack),’ black, black with sparkles (got the side eye with those), blue (wth babe) and a green he hasn’t see yet. If it’s wines, neutrals or reds he’s in his happy place. I need some that will please him and some that will please me. We have to compromise in marriage after all. And will someone tell me about the NARS Powermatte Lipsticks? I definitely want at least one of those. TIA

@divaknits I have one of the NARS powermattes and was really skeptical before I tried it since I hate mattes.  It was not drying at all and wore really well.  Go for it!

@divaknits NARS Powermattes are one of the only 2 liquid matte formulas I can comfortably wear. The other is MUFE’s liquid matte formula. I still need lip balm and lip primer under both, but neither of those formulas dry my lips out. Powermattes are great performers. They’re not as unbudgable as, say, a Tarte Tartiest liquid matte, but they’re MUCH more comfy (to me) to wear. I highly recommend trying one. I’ll also recommend trying a MUFE matte... let’s see if tagging will work via phone today: MAKE UP FOR EVER - Artist Liquid Matte Lipstick

Others off the top of my head: 

NARS - Audacious Lipstick

LANCôME - L'Absolu Lacquer and try some of their bullets, too. 

MAKE UP FOR EVER - Artist Rouge LipstickCreme finish.  

BLACK UP - Lipstick  cream finish (the mattes aren’t comfy to me)

BITE BEAUTY - Amuse Bouche Lipstick though you might need a liner to stop feathering

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick Thicc

And if the scent doesn’t bother you, TOO FACED - Peach Kiss Moisture Matte Long Wear Lipstick – Peaches and Cream Collection

I’ll stop there for now. There are plenty of “wearable” and “unconventional” shade options among all those lines. 🙂

@divaknits Nars powermattes are SOOO worth the hype (and price). I have a couple currently, and omg the staying power is insane, and it’s so comfortable for a matte. I also have really been lovin on the smashbox always on matte metallic in vino noir. It’s a burgundy metallic that is really pretty! But like @RGbrown mentioned, you won’t be able to return anything if you buy using the rouge reward, so definitely swatch and see them all in store if it’s something you’re unsure about.

@divaknits Like @Anonymous already said, I literally haven’t seen a color you didn’t wear well! The powermattes have a color range probably More in line with what your fiancé likes, based on your description 😂 that being said, you’ll definitely fall in love with the formula, and the colors are stunning. I’d probably recommend Warm Leatherette, Under My Thumb, Rick With You, Wild Night and if you’re in need of a true red, Starwoman is one I think a lot of us have accumulated either through favourites boxes or reward redemptions, but sometimes it’s the more basic things that are missing from a collection 😂

I feel like I need to post the bad news first...you may already know this, but just in case...just remember that you can't return or exchange anything you buy with a Rouge Reward, so choose wisely!

And now that the disclaimer is out of the way, let's move on to the fun stuff 😁

NARS Powermatte is a wonderful formula. I hate all mattes...except these. They dry down, but they don't dry out or crack or flake. Dang near bulletproof. 

I also highly highly highly recommend the Lancome L'Absolu Lacquer Gloss (make sure it's the Lacquer, not the plain gloss). These are a magical shiny liquid that sticks around almost as well as a matte. There is some transfer, but they also seemingly never disappear from your lips. I've gotten 8+ hours wear from them, and they stay soft and comfy the whole time. The shade range is pretty standard...your fiance would approve of pretty much all of them. Sephora doesn't carry all of the colors, sadly, but I definitely suggest getting one with your Reward to try, then checking out the rest of them later at Ulta or Lancome direct.

I figured that I couldn’t return anything with the Rouge reward so this isn’t a surprise. The only thing I could possibly have room for is skin care or lipsticks. Guess what’s probably going to win out? 🤣 The Laquer Gloss sounds interesting. Sephora in JC Penney doesn’t carry them so I can’t swatch them so I can order them online. It’s frustrating that I can’t use my reward here. Might have to make a special trip to Nashville to shop there. Thanks @RGbrown fiancé thanks you. Lol

I've seen so many folks think the Reward is more of a gift card, and get upset when they find out they can't return something they got with it, so I always feel compelled to make sure folks realize that up front. It's a bit tricky the way Sephora markets it...they don't say "gift card" anywhere, but so many folks get that impression 😕

Oh, yuck that you only have a SiJCP! A road trip sounds like fun though 😄
