100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

If I told you that this particular lipstick retails for $7, would that change your mind @adnamac?  And I think someone said they were on sale for $4.90 right now. ColourPop Lux lipsticks are a steal!  And they have the most amazing formula, too. 👍

@txcatx oooooooooh, this is an AMAZING color, so rich! Also, that list is IMPRESSIVE, I've been scanning it to see if there are any new lipsticks I need to add... (no-buy? what no-buy?) 🙂

@MissPuff Thanks! And I'm not really into collecting all the latest palettes, so I reach Rouge status every year mostly with lipstick and skincare purchases! Although quite a few of the lipsticks I've worn in this challenge were gratis, promo codes, Rewards Bazaar redemptions, or from lipstick sets.

In the spirit of all these reds I’m seeing on here, today I chose to finally make use of that Nars lip pigment in starwoman that I’m sure everyone has 😂 I also realized that last time I wore a red (PMG Elson I believe), I think I also was wearing a black turtleneck... I don’t think I’ve ever met a turtleneck I didn’t like 🤷🏽‍♀️

So fun story...this is the second color of the day I put on my lips, actually. The first one I put on was so nice and so close to my actual skin tone my lips pretty much just disappeared. Lol So instead I went for matchy-matchy with my shirt again. It’s another NYX slip tease lip lacquer, this time in the color ‘camel’. Last time I wore one of these it feathered horribly, but I didn’t line my lips that day. Today I’velined and we’ll see if it fairs any better. Ps - going to post the ‘made my lips disappear’ (aka Smashbox’s Always on liquid lipstick in the shade Fair Game) in the reply.

Hehe, thanks. I really, really love the color of the Nyx...but it's wear sucks...even lined it just feathered like crazy. Might give it one more try with a different lip liner another day and hope the the best...otherwise I'm just going to get rid of it and start a hunt for a dupe of the color. 😞

Sexy smokey doesn't exist for me! I've tried and always looked like I've been punched in the eye. I've even gone to a Sephora a time or two and had someone else try who's better at it then me...Ulta too...and each time every just kinda agree that it's not a look I can carry. Each time the response has been 'Yeah...you do kinda look like you've been in a bad fight...'

@adnamac You have such a pretty, natural look. I think you could definitely pull off a smoky eye, but it would have to be done a little differently and very light handed. I would use liner to slightly elongate your eyes, by taking it out a bit past your natural eye line and connecting with the outer lower lid. Then you could do a smoke at the edge of that outer line and blend just up to your crease (but not inwards) with a small brush. Then I'd pair that with a nudish shimmery shade on your lid.
