Hi BIC!
A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.
@alexasteph Ugh, eating lots of salty food is the worst part of dehydration for me. Well, almost the worst: I’ve passed out from lack of hydration a few times, including the couple times I collapsed while running. Sometimes I stupidly push myself too hard with too little water. I’m also migraine prone, so you’d think I’d drink enough water to avoid all headaches and flu-like symptoms. I need to buy a bigger water bottle.
My current and previous doctors have tried to convince me to stop drinking coffee. The best I can do is greatly reduce the amount I drink per day. I mean hey, I no longer drink 2 or more pots per day so I think I’m doing pretty good there! I’m down to less than a pot a day. Now I just need to drink a lot more water. You’re an inspiration, @alexasteph. 🙂
@WinglessOne I can’t have caffeine because I am a caffeine responder. It makes my eye pressure go up. I haven’t had caffeine in years. Except for chocolate which my doctor says has a different compound. Thank heavens — because without chocolate life wouldn’t be worth living. 😉
Aw @jozkid that’s a bummer. But it’s good that you’re avoiding caffeine (well, the bad-for-you kind) for your health. 🙂
Doctors usually tell me to quit coffee because they’re convinced it’s the root cause of my insomnia. They’re wrong about that: I was an insomniac as a child, long before I first tasted coffee, and it’s mostly anxiety that keeps me up at night. Many years ago, I told a doctor I’d quit smoking before I’d quit coffee—and I promptly did. He quickly learned that the best way to make me quit a bad health-related behavior was to tell me “it’s either [behavior] or coffee: you gotta quit one.” 😂 But so far, no one’s told me caffeine’s causing me harm beyond insomnia. Still, I’ve decreased my coffee consumption, so I’m not completely ignoring my doc’s advice. I’m kind of a coffee snob—I’ve gone to Jamaica just to go up the Blue Mountains to get beans direct from plantations—so I’ll be very sad if I ever have to give it up.
@WinglessOne They can try and pry the coffee pot out of my shriveled, dehydrated hands.
@alexasteph Apparently I am a dehydrated lump. 😁
@alexasteph This looks great on you! I also picked up a few of the colourpop lux lipsticks with the free shipping code, I wore LaLady today and realized it's aaaaaaaaaalmost an exact match colorwise for the new Shiseido Semi-Nude. Formula wise, definitely not as long lasting, but very comfortable!
@MissPuff For $7 it’s pretty dang good though!
@alexasteph Oh I totally agree! And the color selection is so impressive 🙂
Day 19! Tatami from Japonesque. I thought it was going to be darker than it was. It still looks nice but even my friend said it looked different on me than you would think from looking at the color of it. She thought it looked pinker on me than she had expected. Anyway, I like this! Picked it up on clearance for a win! Feels light on my lips, wears down evenly. I feel like this photo makes it look dry but I didn't find it uncomfortable. My favorite part is the magnet closure of the tube lol. It's fun to spin it around and watch it magnet itself back together. #easilyamused
@Anonymous,
Those magnetic Japonesque lipstick tubes are fun aren't they!
I'm easily amused too! 🙂
Hello ladies! Going to take a few days off. Fell yesterday and broke and dislocated a finger and have a giant plaster splint. Typing is tough right now. Seeing a hand specialist Monday and hoping for a smaller splint. I want to comment but struggling to type! It was a totally minor fall up a couple stairs and turned into a big thing. Sigh. Have a good weekend everyone!
Adding to the well wishes and hopes for a good surgery. I messed up my thumb a few years back and it was horrible coming back from the injury. It's so tough to not be able to use your hand normally. I hope you heal quickly and well @sprocketta!
@snoflakefaerie You are so right. It's amazing how difficult a hand injury can be. I'm sorry you went through that with your thumb, it must have been so hard. Even with it just being my pinky it's a challenge all the time. Thanks for the empathy.
Take good care of yourself, rest and relax! I hope that your hand feels better really soon! 🙂
Thanks @tsavorite I had surgery Thursday and have been taking it easy ever since.
Oh @sprocketta, I'm so sorry! I hope it isn't too painful. I know how you feel, the smallest, most insignificant events can wreck havoc in day-to-day life. Grown-up injuries are never as exciting as the ones kids get! Hope you are on the mend soon, and that the specialist Monday is able to help make you a little more comfortable with the smaller splint:)
Thanks @eshoe Ended up having surgery on Thursday and trying to get life back to normal now. And you're right! When I was a kid a broken bone wasn't nearly as much of a hassle. Darn adulting.
Lol, @sprocketta glad to know the worst part is over and now it’s on to recovery. Hope you’re back to life as normal soon😊
