Hi BIC!
A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.
Oh trust me @WinglessOne. I don’t need much encouragement!
Thanks @itsfi @KrishAtl @MissPuff @Kim888 @sprocketta!
I need to repeat Firecracker soon, just to get used to the formula. I like it. It’s just... different. Or you know, I could go buy a second one—perhaps the shade I actually wanted (Sleeping Dragon), or I might try Volcanic to see if it’s truly orange or more of a coral on me. Hmm.
I think it would be great to try some of the other shades @WinglessOne, but this color is definitely perfection on you!
@WinglessOne I LOVE This on you. Also really nice with the ombre. Glad you got this one by mistake. Also, I really like your sloth shirt. Very cute.
oooh so pretty @WinglessOne ! You've all convinced me haha I just ordered one
@WinglessOne OOOHH! That red is FIRE 🙂 Even prettier with the ombre!
What a stunning red! I like the ombre look you created. Beautiful!
The shade fits, @WinglessOne-and more importantly, that shirt is great😆
Thanks @eshoe! The whole shirt says “let’s hang and read,” and the sloth’s holding a red book. 🙂 It’s one of my many t-shirts from Out of Print (outofprintclothingDOTcom).
Day 34 Be Legendary lipstick in Latte Matte
I had to interrupt my Nars collection to try out the Moody and nudie palette from Smashbox I got on sale. I love these browns and they feel so good on my lips, I want to keep re-applying even if I dont need to. Sorry for the blurry pic, I guess I was excited 🙂
I really like Latte Matte on you! It's a great color! 🙂
What a great fall look @Buootiful This shade looks lovely on you.
Thanks! @sprocketta. You should try some browns as well, it'll make your eye look pop out even more than it does now 🙂
Thanks! @WinglessOne Now, if I could just figure out what my skin undertone is as there are so many tests with such different results. I have green veins yet the foundation I have says I have cool undertones and the red lipsticks look the best on me but they are generally warm colors. So confusing but fun 🙂
@Buootiful The undertone game can be frustrating, especially if you have more than one like I do. Most makeup artists want to put gold, almond, or olive toned foundation on me, but those don’t work everywhere on my face. Red toned foundations end up too orange. Neutral toned foundations work best, but so do a few yellow toned ones. So I’ve almost given up on undertone ID. 😄 Whatever works best on you, go with it, no matter what undertone it claims to be.
To further complicate things, Sephora’s descriptions of foundation tones (on product pages) sometimes don’t match the descriptions on brands’ sites. Sephora might call a foundation shade “caramel with gold undertone,” but if you go to the brand’s site you’ll see it’s considered “neutral with warm undertone”—and those descriptions don’t mean the same thing. Ugh.
Ugh @WinglessOne, I guess I will have to get a sample of a foundation and try it at home. Somehow, the SA's are heavy handed in applying instore for a quick swatch, that it just emphasizes my pores and I end up not liking the foundation. I hope the sample capsules are good for 3 days, right?
@Buootiful Some Sephora folks (and some employees at other stores) don’t quite get the difference between “swatch” and “slather.” 😄 To avoid that, try swatching yourself at Sephora—just do a check-jawbone-neck finger swatch (include your chest if you like to match there) of 2 or more foundation shades—and then ask a nearby Sephora mua which one they think is your best match. They might still wanna slather more of your face in foundation afterward, but at least they’ll do it with the shade they think suits you.
Heh heh, Slather. 🙂 🙂 @WinglessOne Good Tip!
