100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

Okay, can I join in and do, like, 50 days of lipstick? I'm in the process of downsizing, but I tend to wear the same five lipsticks lately.

Anyway, today is work from home day, so please ignore the lack of makeup except lipstick. I only swiped some on because I had to jump in on a work meeting via video! I'm wearing GIVENCHY - Le Rouge Lipstick - 105 Brun Vintage which is my current favorite lipstick, and my newest lipstick, so I can't promise I won't wear it again in the near future!

@txcatx Woohoo! Long time no see 🙂 You always wear the Givenchy Le Rouge lipsticks beautifully and this color is no exception!

Pretty color, @txcatx-how is the wear? I can’t tell if it’s a satin or not, looks like it might be🤔?

@eshoe Le Rouge is my favorite lipstick formula, and it is a satin. The darker colors tend to last for quite some time--the shade Framboise Velours once lasted me through two Thanksgiving dinners without a touch-up! I love that it's long-lasting, non-drying, pigmented, and that it comes in a gorgeous, leather case.

Does it really last that long for you @txcatx?  Don’t get me wrong, I adore the formula. I love the way it applies and how it feels on my lips. But I get much better wear from other formulas. I must be doing something wrong.

@jozkid Some shades definitely last longer than others. Framboise Velours seems to be the longest lasting shade I have out of the eight or so shades I own in that formula. Rose Boudoir doesn't last nearly as long. Brun Vintage lasts somewhere in the middle. I do use a lip pencil or primer sometimes (I grab whichever one I find first--Urban Decay Ozone, Laura Mercier clear lip liner, or Colourpop lip primer), which might be helping--liner, lipstick, blot, maybe a dab of setting powder through a tissue, and then a second coat of lipstick seems to always work for me. Those steps even get some of the darker Nars Lip Glides to last through a night. I don't do all that in the morning--only if I'm going to dinner or a party or something!
