100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

The NARS Powermattes look fabulous on you @Buootiful! I have a couple of these lippies and am going to reach for them next week after seeing your pics. Right now though, I'm going to see who might want to go get some fried chicken with me! lol! 🙂

 I don't understand the vast difference between the swatches online and on someones lips. London calling is much darker (prob 10 levels) on my lips than on the lip swatches online

These all look good on you, @Buootiful! I’m also a big fan of NARS Powermattes. They’re one of the 2 liquid matte lines I can comfortably wear all day (with a lip primer underneath). I’ve never put one through the fried chicken test though... and now I think I know what I’m having for dinner tonight. 😄 🍗

Yesterday’s lipstick was Guerlain Rouge G in 333. 

I have 2 of these Guerlain lipsticks. Sometimes they apply streaky/patchy because they’re so ridiculously moisturizing. I keep forgetting I don’t need a lip balm under these. (Balm gives the color even more reason to streak up.) On me, 333 is never really opaque. It’s sheer to medium. But I like it that way. 

Since I’m working from home and have no video conferences today, I haven’t put on any makeup yet. But I should do my Bite lip primer test after lunch—which means I’ll probably post a different blue lipstick later today. 🙂

You wear funky colors so well @WinglessOne. I think I’d look like I had frostbite in blue, but you make it look natural!

Thanks @jozkid! I still believe there’s a blue lipstick out there for everyone, so you’d just need to find the right shade. 🙂 Maybe not one with this gray/violet an undertone... something like that OFRA Bondi Beach blue would probably work, in a much better lipstick formula of course. (I’m still not happy about decluttering that one.) A nice solid navy blue could also look good on your skin tone, especially with your lovely salt and pepper curls.

I realize blue’s not something everyone’s comfortable with. I just recently started getting comfy wearing brown lipsticks, and I’m venturing into the non-teal green shade range now. I have to stop by Nordstrom this weekend to pick up an online order, and while I’m there I might try on Guerlain’s green lipstick... it’s very green in the tube, so we’ll see how it translates on me.
