100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

I'm grateful for this thread helping to keep me on track with my own personal declutter goals...otherwise I'd simply pull out shades I know I love and ignore the rest of my collection. Today's test is MAC Diva, and it's got two reasons to be here. It's matte, and it's been forever since I wore a MAC matte, so I want a reminder on the formula...and two, this pulls awfully brown on me; not sure I'm keen on that.

I think it's gorgeous on you!  I'm with you, though, lipstick cracking is more annoying to me than it just wearing off. @RGbrown

After some serious thought, and trying another shade in the same formula, all of my MAC mattes are going in the declutter box. They just aren't comfy, nor are they attractive once they crack. 😥

@RGbrown You look great in both versions! No brown is coming through on my screen, but it's always so hard to tell isn't? I always wish there as a filter that was "What I look IRL" 🙂

What really drives me nuts is watching the color change on my screen as I tilt my head or lean back just a bit while trying to take the pic in the first place. Now I'm pink, now I'm yellow, now I'm pink again. Maddening!

It's definitely more brown IRL, though the contrast of putting the bronze on top made my outline look a bit more red than it did before. Surprisingly the bronze has done a decent job of smoothing out the cracks and lines, but hasn't affected wear much, if at all. I'm not sure I *love* it yet, but I haven't written it off as a destash yet either. 🤷

I hear ya. I've been mostly low-buy all year, and doing pretty well, but the second I decided my collection was ridiculous, started decluttering my lipsticks and said "no more!", I brought 4 new ones home 🤦 No more! (Famous last words 😋)

But honestly? I really like this on you a lot. It doesn't look poo-ish. And it's not like anything I've seen you wear. Any toppers you can add for a little sparkle?

Gmta...I saw this after rummaging through my lippies for something to put on top 😋

I added Colourpop Ultra Metallic in DM (a deep bronze). Still not sure I like the color, but at least it's sparkly now. 😅 But in the less-than-an-hour I've been wearing the MAC, it had already settled in my lines and cracked. I think more than anything I'm just losing patience with all things dry. I'll sacrifice wear time for comfort any day.

Oh sorry that you dont like the lipstick @RGbrown.  The color looks good on you though.  I hear you about the brown.  I hate any lipstick pulling brown on me too.

Yeah, I know a lot of folks love the browns, but I just can't get on board for my personal collection. If it had some sparkle to it, I could at least pretend to call it "bronze" or something, but alas, no, this is just...brown... 😋
