Hi BIC!
A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.
I think I need to try Bite Beauty sometime, everything @snoflakefaerie and @alexasteph have worn from them has been beautiful! I wish I had a Sephora closer to me so I could go swatch some things, but then again it's probably saving me some monies lol.
@Anonymous Bite is definitely one of my favorite brands. I would keep your eye out for point perks because they have done a lot of the shades that way, and in the birthday gift this year. Outside of that, they usually offer some mini sets around Christmas time. They often have a few nudes and a bolder shade or two. If you don't already have a bunch of the colors, I think it's a great way to try out the brand.
@Anonymous Itโs probably my favorite lippie brand! I feel ya on wanting to swatch though. What sort of shades do generally go for when blind buying? We can probably figure out a couple good starter shades for you.
I am drawn to the bright colors, especially the pinks. I would love to get one of those bright purple ones. I also like the funky colors, for example I wouldn't mind trying a gray lippie. I saw Smashbox has one and I thought it was fun and different.
@AnonymousUnidentified
I'll second the suggestion for Jam; it's a lovely, vibrant purple that fades to (and stains) a gorgeous fuschia. I'll have to pull it out for a demo soon ๐
@Anonymous Biteโs Amuse Bouche line you might like Kimchi (bright pink), Spritzer or Lavander Jam (purples); of the Liquified formula, check out Sugar Beet (light purple) or Kohlrabi (dark purple). Their Matte Creme Lip Crayon has a shade called Pink Lady which is a bright pink. Anastasia Beverly Hills has a grey shade called Griffin in the Matte Lipstick. I have not tried it though. Kat Von D has a shade called Cobblestone, which is a bluish gray, and Woolf which is more of a true gray.
I have this one too @snoflakefaerie. Out of all my many Bite colors, this one is right up there. It looks so good on you!
@snoflakefaerie Oh wow it pulls redder on you! Very nice. So wierd how shades do that. Good to know about the liner, I have a darker one for shades like this.
Ok, so I'm wondering out loud, and kinda feel like an idiot for even asking, but @alexastephUnidentified, are you sure that's not Licorice in your pic? I had to go back and forth between y'alls pics a couple of times, and I swear I'm not seeing any resemblance. You say it's not a color you would normally wear, so I'm taking that to mean you didn't "buy" it...I have both Beetroot and Licorice in minis, so they had to be point perks or gwps or maybe in a Favorites lip set in the last year or so. Anyways, swatches (in horrible fluorescent lighting, sorry), Licorice on top, Beetroot on bottom
I think they were 100 pointers @RGbrown because I have both of them as well. And they read the same way on my skin as they do on you.
@RGbrown Hm... you know what. I think youโre right. I do have both, and Licorice is deffo darker.
@alexastephUnidentified
Ah, whew. Though I still feel like an idiot for asking "are you sure you know what you're wearing?" ๐๐๐
@RGbrown Ha! Nah, donโt feel like an idiot.
@alexasteph I was surprised by the color on you and wanted to make sure I wasn't mis-remembering how this was for me. Agreed it's weird how different shades can look on different people.
Monday I wore another of the YSL Glossy Stains. This is 20. I need to wear these more often because I think theyโre super pretty.
And on Tuesday (today) I wore some Laura Geller pretties from our super sweet @RGbrown! Be careful telling her youโve never tried the brand because an envelope filled with goodies arrived in the mail PDQ! I have on a lip pencil in Orchid which perfectly matches the Love Me Dew Lip Crayon in Purple Currant. As I said, this was my first experience with the Lip Crayon and I was quite impressed. It slipped right on my lips like a gloss, but with the ease of a crayon. Coverage was excellent and it wore very well for something that applied this slick. Anyway, here I am channeling my inner RGbrown. ๐
Iโm also wearing the LG baked blush and a highlighter she included. Thank you so so much honey!
Thanks @Buootiful! Yeah, I was looking pretty shiny those two days! ๐
I was really touched by the goodies from @RGbrown. And mission accomplished โ I think she made me a believer!
She was spreading the LG word @snoflakefaerie!
