A new flanker of YSL’s Black Opium is hitting the markets around the world starting... now! Black Opium Illicit Green is already available at Sephora in France. Does anyone know the Sephora release date in the US?

Ah, I know it seems the news just broke today! I can’t wait to get my nose on it... sounds exciting and a bit edgier than the flankers we’ve seen from this line!

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t try to buy it from France (only to sadly find no international shipping options). I’ll have to be more patient!😁

I recently discovered a YSL scent that i love from a co-worker; when stupid C19 calms down ill be going to Sephora and smell ALL of the YSL perfume to find it and in time (because $$$$$$$$$$) buy it.

I dont know which one it is because all he said was that on the bottle its written Yves Saint Laurent. Also, the scent was one that wasnt all that masculine, it was more neutral. 

Also, i have a question for everyone... and that is... who finds the "Black Opium" name weird??? I mean like, every time i hear the name i think about the drug and im really curious about the smell. Thats it lol.

I wonder why it was named that because in my mind, that drug isnt something that would smell nice lollll. 

Anyway thank you for sharing your find, if i see it somewhere or find new infos ill let you know ☺☺☺☺

My best guess is that the one you’re looking for is some variation of Yves Saint Laurent Y Eau de Parfum (there are a few, and some are more unisex than others). This is a pretty well-like fragrance, so I wouldn’t be surprised!

I do find the opium name to be interesting, and it has some controversial history behind it! So, you are onto something. Little nerd moment here if you’re interested:

The opium fragrance line has been around since the late 70s. I’d assume it was quite bold and edgy for them to choose this name during that time. I’ve read that the original Opium fragrance was inspired by “oriental” culture (“the orient” being Asian culture, which was and still is fetishized and commodified by designers). I’m assuming the name “Opium” arose from 1. some intrigue and allure related to Chinese opium dens, and 2. the addictive and euphoric nature of using opium. 🤓
