How do points work?

What @Vsward10 said is true, but you can also get 50 points a month if you subscribe to Sephora's Play program. They send you a card with each monthly box that you take into the store and redeem with a purchase, which will give you 50 extra points in addition to whatever points you got from your purchase. Very, very occasionally they do other non-purchase point distributions as well- for example, recently you could earn 50 points by filling out your community profile.

Primarily though, it is directly through purchases. You can really rack up points when they do the 2x, 3x, 4x point events.

I just wanted to add if you join play! you'll get at least 60 points a month (10 for the $10 box of goodies and 50 using you play pass) plus you have to make a purchase to redeem the play pass so you get those points too.

Yes. You can only receive points through purchases online or in-store. Throughout the year they will have events where (depending on your insider level) they will give 2X, 3X or 4X points on purchases. Hope this helps.
