Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

You're missing gypsy-hipster and bohemian chic! Smiley Happy

My street style ranges from Cape Cod polished to Coachella Flower Child.

I wear what makes me happy. Smiley Happy Not sure if that's "alternative" fashion - since I don't really try to embody a single "image" or genre, but my wardrobe is a crazy mix of everything! I love the retro-pin up look, the occasional soft-punk get-up and lots and lots of flower crowns. Then again, I'm in high school, so I can pretty much wear anything and nobody will really care or think I'm weird. Smiley Happy I figure - I'll only be young once, might as well have as much fun playing dress-up as possible before I have to grow up.

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

Heh, sorry. I kinda tucked anything else (since there are sooo many styles to list) into the umbra term 'Alternative Fashion'. The Coachella Flower Child  look brings to mind a very similar style in Japan called Mori-Girl. I think its pretty good to change it up and express yourself.

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

Please don't use the word "gypsy" - it's a slur. I'd be happy to discuss in PM, I don't want to get into a big war over it. (And before someone asks, yes, this affects me personally.)

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

Poemelyric, you made me giggle with the pet-peeves. Sadly, its a harsh truth. I have some grunge punk friends, all pierced and inked up. People literately cross the street when they see them. It's funny cause these are some of the nicest and down to earth people I know. Tripp NYC I assume? Some awesome clothing. Super comfy pants. <3

I'm 27 going on 28 and I still trick or treat.

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

LOL!  I just chalk it down to the fact that people scare easily, LOL!  I didn't put Demonia down, did I???  I have so much of their stuff that my apartment is bursting at the seems, LOL!  I love my platform heels!

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

I like when kids come up to me and ask if I'm a vampire, LOL! It's too cute. Yeah Demonia is one of my many loves. So comfy. *Happy sigh*

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

LOL!  I used to wear my fangs every day until they broke after 3 years!  I go to this guy named Dnash (he has a website dedicated to his art of making fangs.  He's been making them for a looong time!  I was 22 when he made my first set),  He made me a new set a couple of years ago but since i'm in an professional environment, I only wear them the week before and after Halloween, LOL!

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

Nice, I have a set that was made by an awesome gentlemen. I'm actually getting them permanently attached to my teeth via the dentist. I don't want to do veneers since it permanently damaged your tooth. I'll have them rough up my teeth and attach the same stuff they use for white fillings which is called k9 lengthening. I kinda already have that naturally going on for me, I just want it to exaggerate it a bit more.

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

My style is pretty tame, but I love looking at the Haute Macabre website. I really like Blood Milk jewelry, the Great Frog London jewelry, and Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab (I'm planning my first purchase). My favorite color is black, so that's mostly what I wear haha.

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

O_O! Thank you for sharing those brands with me, that stuff from Blood Milk is utterly stunning. Funny, I've come across Black Phoenix before and actually have a few things saved to my Etsy cart. Wild Rose Herbs and DebaucherousBathBody are pretty cool too, check'em out.

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

You should check out Meadowlark Jewellery too, they have a lot of really nice jewelry that I've been lusting after for some time now.

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

I MUST HAVE IT ALL!

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

I've resigned to the fact that I won't be able to purchase anything of theirs for a while, so I just stalk their Instagram and dream lol.

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

Valentines is coming up....must drop hints to the Hubby.

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

I've been buying BPAL since 2003. Feel free to ask questions! Smiley Happy

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

It's funny, I'm into a lot of alt-fashions, however you wouldn't be able to tell by just looking at me. I guess my friends are more outwardly into it than I am but I do dabble and incorporate various pieces from different alternative fashions into my every day looks. My friend Yasmin is a super adorable pinup/vintage enthusiast who got me even more into red lipstick than I already was and helped me dye my hair magenta. My older friends used to take me to 80s clubs like Blue Monday and Industrial clubs like Das Bunker where there was obviously more of a goth/industrial vibe going one.  I've spent many years hanging with my more boho friends at music festivals like Coachella (Coachella before it became insane).

So yeah I guess I'm not really helpful in listing anything particular lol.

Piercings: Helix, septum, nipples

Zodiac: Sagittarius, Snake for Chinese

And for fun here is my friend Yasmin looking adorable as all hell in a mixture of vintage/handmade clothing:

omg these pics are the cutest thing EVER!

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

Haha yeah she's adorable, sometimes I accompany her to her pinup contests, I love it.

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

Haha, small world. I've been to Das Bunker. It's definitely a place I visit when in LA. I wish the Goth Clubs didn't all but die out in Toronto (my hometown). I really dig your friends style and the hair <3.

Ah, the old **bleep**-piercings. I've had to take mine out twice and they haven't completely closed. But, the jewelry won't go through. I want to redo them, but the pain of it all, especially with the scar tissue from the last 2 times. I suppose it comes down to...do I really want it.

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

o,o sephora censored nipple....odd.

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

How weird, they only censored it when "piercing" was added to the end lol. I think if I had to take mine out I wouldn't really want to do them again, the initial piercing part isn't too painful but oh the healing process, and god forbid you accidentally hit one Smiley Sad I've been accidentally punched in the **bleep** one too many times with these things. One time one of them got caught in my mesh shower sponge thing even though I'm super careful, owww.

Re: Gothic girls, Pin-up, Punk and J-Fashion Enthusiasts. Calling all Alternative Fashion ladies!

I'm onto you Sephora and your sneaky ways.... Yeah, the first time I had them done. It didn't hurt at all, but I was taken to the hospital (I have a stupid medical condition) and they had to remove all jewelry, so that sucked. I went to get them redone and by then it had fully healed, it really sucked because of the scar tissue. After 2 months I was washing up and the balls unscrewed as I was washing up and I only had one piercing in. After only having one in, I took it out and that was 3 years ago. Kinda miss them.

Yeah, my fear was ripping them out while getting it caught on something.
