Faded GWP out of stock and no alternatives?

I placed an order and added the Faded sample to my order. I was notified when the order was shipping that it was out of stock. Why am I not offered an alternative GWP?

I've placed five or six orders over the past few months and apart from this one, two others have been missing free samples! I normally don't order from sephora, is this just a common thing for these items to be missing? I also wouldn't normally complain about missing samples, but this is the GWP which I was really looking forward to trying. Very annoying.

@Izzycf I have had that happen twice to me.  If you call customer service and let them know they will allow you to pick something else.  It will ship separate from your order.
