Has anyone out there tried the Top Box Subscription? โจ๏ธ๐ฆโจ๏ธ
I did and was on the fence about it. I got my first Box and I think I'm going to keep going with it, until next month at least.
Details:
Canadian Sub box for 15$ that gives you 4 trial sized of random products.
Pro: Affordable
Con: Who knows what you'll get ๐ค and tiny products.
My first Box ๐
(Wearing Laritzy in Dusty Rose)
The Clairns oil is more sample than trial size so menh ๐ด but I'm okay with the mini mascara, I use it everyday so it'll serve me well lol
So my break down is just in that spoiler above. ๐
Final thoughts? ๐ฆ
SO, for now, I'm going on for another month. I'm excited to see where this goes.
If you've had this sub box I'd love to hear about it! What did you think, what did you get? And are you still in?
@CynthieLu Haha, hey if it fits she sits! ๐น
I looked more into the sub box and it seems like it's Canada only (at least for now?) but seems to be fairly solid for the $15 range ๐
Your a good detective ๐ง @QueenMarceline that's right!
This is a Canadian Sub Box and on my quest awhile back for an affordable subscription service this was the one I landed on.
Its super affordable and it lets me try a few sample size products every month. Mostly tester size but I've lucked into a few full size lippies, and a full size bha/aha serum and SPF. I don't know how long I'll stay with it but for now it's pretty fun ๐
@CynthieLu Super cool that they offer it for Canadian beauties, since it seems like many subs don't ship to Canada. Honestly I love tester/sample sizes especially for travel and when you can snag some great quality minis. I relied on my subs so much that honestly last time I traveled I had to go and shell out $$$ for some travel minis of products which I haven't done in a while.
Can't wait to see what else you get in the upcoming months โค๏ธ
Thank you @QueenMarceline ๐
Its so true, a good local sub box was a huge challenge to find. For the price it's such a painless splurge ๐ I'd recommend it to anyone who had the extra money to play with and wanted to try a few new brands or products every month.
@CynthieLu That looks like a ton of fun! I especially love that lippie.
I stopped my Topbox subscription while I was unemployed, because I kept needing to put groceries on my credit card and was getting a little alarmed. I might go back to it at some point, but right now I have So. Much. Product. that I'm considering just chucking some of it out unused, as it feels overwhelming. I only have one face. LOL
But I think your latest Topbox looks fantastic. ๐ Enjoy!
@Westcoasty I do remember you stopped, I wasn't sure if this email made it to you. Thank you ๐ The lippie and the Moisturizer are going to be useful ๐ (Some of these might go too my niece, friends or family.)
This was not the regular Sub, but a special one time purchase to raise money for a cause. I thought I'd share it here because it was run by TopBox.
I think using up what you have is very wise.
Pan It! - 2023 Challenge is dedicated to using up our make up etc.. it can be a challenge to use what we have.
Or shop our stashes rather than get something new
Have you seen that thread before? You might like it. ๐
@CynthieLu I think it all looks like fun, and I'm sure friends and family would appreciate them too. ๐
I've definitely seen (and bookmarked) the Pan It thread, but I found that any time I was saving empties till I got around to taking a photo for the thread, I got annoyed at the clutter and threw them out. LOL
The real problem I'm having is that I'm not using much product of any kind, now that I'm working from home. Lots of days I roll out of bed, chuck on my bathrobe, and go to the computer (not that I'm complaining!). I may not even do skincare, let alone put on makeup. Mostly I'm wearing lip balms, plus the occasional Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops Serum 2.7 oz / 80 mL on my clean face.
I am, however, following your tip about rotating product lines! Right now Glow Recipe is my skincare, and L'Occitane's almond line is in my shower.
I honestly never thought I'd feel like I had too much product. I didn't know such a thing was possible for folks like us. But I've actually reached my saturation point. Maybe I'll go back to Topbox once my collection gets pared down, but for now I don't want so much as a sample pack!
You have the right ideas and it's very smart to stay within your limits. @Westcoasty You know exactly what you want and don't want, that's so Important. โฅ๏ธ
I could enjoy just rolling out of bed everyday, except my skin is dry as a dessert and it needs demands a lot of attention.
Lol!
@CynthieLu I'd likely take better care of my skin if it needed the kind of attention yours does! That's why I'm using up my lip balms, albeit slowly. I always have one on my nightstand and one at my desk. I hate having dry lips.
Anyhow, your skin looks great, so you must be doing something right. ๐
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it here yet, but Top Box also has a program called Topbox Circle where you answer surveys and get free (often FS) products to review! Like influenster but way less intense. Iโve been able to try quite a few nice products that span different categories, including haircare, skincare, deodorant, even laundry detergent and household wet wipes!
Thanks for the info on that @cianni! I might look into it. Iโm all for trying new things. And as someone who took statistical sociology once upon a time, I sometimes feel bad that people donโt always go out of their way to do surveys, so Iโll make time to do them so the researchers can have some data.
@JoSometimes Woah statistical sociology sounds so cool!! I totally agree with you on surveys and reviews - I know I rely heavily on reviews and user generated information, so Iโm always happy to provide any when necessary!
Thank you for that info @cianni Overall would you say you've had a positive experience with that program?
@CynthieLu definitely! if you donโt mind that the product offering can be a bit sporadic, itโs worth the minimal time investment to answer questionnaires.
some of my recent tries have been Keys Soulcare Let Me Glow Illuminating Serum with Niacinamide 1.01 oz/ 30 mL , L'Orรฉal Professionnel Serioxyl Purifier and Bodifier Shampoo 16.9 oz / 500 mL L'Orรฉal Professionnel Serioxyl Densifying Serum 3.4 oz / 90 mL , ELF lip stain, Dove aluminum free deodorant, Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Silky Moisturizer with Double Dose Hyaluronic Acid 1.7 oz / 50 mL , CLINIQUE Smart Clinical Repairโข Wrinkle Correcting Serum , Shea Moisture shampoo, conditioner and mask, Seventh Generation fragrance free detergent and eco friendly disinfecting wipes. I think all except the Clinique were full sized! The Clinique was a DS
@cianni Thanks for the tip about TopBox Circle! I just signed up. I noticed one about fragrance free detergent and Iโm kind of hoping I get to try it. Itโs really beauty related but definitely helpful for sensitive skin.
@cianni Wow some great info there, do you have to be a subscriber in order to participate with the questionnaires?
@QueenMarceline No you donโt! I found out about the sample program through social media, and have never actually done the subscription. Itโs a separate
program called TopBox Circle ๐
@cianni That's super awesome thanks for letting me know ๐ I'll have to dabble around when I get the chance.
That's really cool @cianni thank you for all that info!
I think TopBox has a cute little subscription box. It isn't too expensive and you can have fun trying a few new things every month. And that's so fun!
I think I'll check out the site, I mean I'm already familiar with the company and I'll see what it's all about. ๐ Thanks for the hot tip!
@CynthieLu no problem! I was curious about he subscription element too. Itโs hard-ish to find ones that are so seamless for Canadians to pay and receive, so Iโve never really done any!
That was exactly my issue @cianni I wanted something that didn't cost and arm and a leg and was hassel free for Canadians. (It was such a hunt for a good box.)
This one checked all my boxes. I've gotten cute highlighters, blushes, lippues, from Canadian brands I've never heard of otherwise. Annnnd if the product is a miss, at 15$ I'm not to sad about it. ๐
