@ather, I'm behind on posting - surprise, surprise. lol. One of the items arrived broken so they sent a replacement but it just got here recently and I didn't get around to taking photos ... yet. On my 'to do' list. Heat wave this week so it'll be a good time to test out the powder.

@ather @jaaayp, sorry for the delayed reply - I lost track of where this string was and then this supposed heat wave hasn't been very hot at all (watch, it'll be blazing hot tomorrow, lol). So, Tower 28 Beauty GetSet Blur + Set Talc-Free Pressed Setting Powder, initial impression is that it's good, and can be made to work for all skin types, but it may be best suited for those with oily or very oily skin. I debated over the Translucent shade and the Palisades Pink shade and ultimately went with the translucent one. Here are my initial thoughts:

• It looks less "translucent" than white in the compact and when I pick it up
• Texture feels smooth when picking up product from the pan but I do get a bit of kickback
• Wears comfortably - feels light on the skin
• Does a nice job of blurring under eye area - gives a smooth, softy blurred look
• Application to under eye area - for me, I found I liked the end result better when I used a brush to pick up the powder and to set my under eye area. The little puff is super cute but it didn't give as smooth a finish under my eyes as a brush. My under eye area is a little on the dry side so perhaps that is it? 
• Application to T-zone, cheeks, forehead - using a puff works well on my T-zone, around my nose, along my jawline. These are areas where I'm oilier this time of year. For the other parts of my face (forehead (normal) and cheeks (leans dry)), I preferred the look that results from using a brush (over the puff).

@itsfi  oooo thanks for the detailed explanation!! I wonder now where I tend to lean more dry if I should pass altogether. Did it cling to dry spots on your cheeks or was it not as smooth? 

Bluring the under eyes sounds perfect!! 😍

@ather, it didn't cling to my dry spots (thankfully); it just took a little more effort to make it look more blurred/smooth in the drier areas - and this probably happened more when I used the puff, as I think about it. I prefer using a brush to apply it, so it's less of an issue.

Love this review @itsfi ! "Does a nice job of blurring under eye area" AM I SOLD??? I think that's what I always look for when I purchase a setting powder. I am combo/oily but my under eyes are dry and whatever I use kinda settles and creases under my "great divide" (what I like to call my gigantic 1 wrinkle under my left eye, the small ones are blurrable).

So far, I only found the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder the only thing that looks decent. This really does blur but since it's so expensive, I only use it under my eyes and around the nose (another problem area).

How do you think it compares to the CT? Worth a try? 🤔

@jaaayp, I think the Tower 28 is one you'd like. Sorry for adding another thing to your list. Ohhh, wait a sec, you asked ..  Well then, not sorry! 🤣

Ooouh, I like that CT powder - for a time, it was my go-to setting powder and then I went down the setting spray rabbit hole 🕳. Hmmm... I feel like between the two, my preference is for the Tower 28, particularly under the eyes. It feels like it does a better job of blurring and brightening for me in the under eye area and I'm all about looking more alert and awake than I actually am. 😅 In fact, I debate with myself (all the time, it seems) whether to have picked up the Palisades Pink shade for its brightening effect. 🤔 I mean, I'm not going to do it now because I'm aiming to be very good about being highly selective as to what I buy (we'll see if that actually happens when it comes my beauty spend but so far, not so bad, ha!) and saving my coins for some of the holiday releases - I'm not sure what I'll actually get, but they get me every year (every. year!) and the avalanche of products being released has already begun. 😲 

Functionality wise, what I like about the CT is that it comes with a mirror. I understand why perhaps the T28 does not - sustainability, weight of product, cost of product, but a mirror is helpful with a product like the T28 / CT for touch ups on the go. 

As an aside, which shade to you have in the CT. Seeing your post here, I went to reach for mine and I feel like the shade I have is off for me now. Hmmm... even if it is, I wouldn't likely pick it up in another shade because I'm good with the Tower 28. Now, if there was a promo gwp with one of those teeeny, teeeeeeeny, tiny ones, I'd consider adding it to my cart and then posting about it on the I DID IT FOR THE GWP! 🛍 thread. Ha!

I definitely will try. I feel like I'm probably gonna order it direct from tower28. I think they were doing 28% off last year and I picked up a whole bunch of stuff from them...

As for the pink powders, DOES IT ACTUALLY WORK FOR YOU @itsfi ? I think i might be a little too fair for the pink powders to work as I tried the HUDA BEAUTY Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder Cherry Blossom and the Laura Mercier Ultra-Blur Talc-Free Translucent Loose Setting Powder Rose (I literally use this all over my face and I see 0 effect)

I have the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder 1 Fair. I'm not sure if I'm a click lighter than you are since although we are Armani twinsies, I do think the Armani is LEEEEEETO bit dark on me... 

Maybe I can pick up the tower 28 Powder and it'll fix all my shade problems LOLOL

@jaaayp, I’ve only swatched the T28 pink shade in store. I think we’re fraternal twinsies when it comes to foundation / concealer matches - probably closer in the winter months for me, though I may have more pink undertones in certain parts of my face as well. So not identical foundation twinsies, maybe foundation cousins? 😃

Yep, the holiday sale season is upon us, already. 😳 I am hoping to be more mindful with my purchases and not buy all the things, all at once. Hahahaha! I’ll come up with a more concrete plan for making that more doable later this month….or next. lol

@itsfi I think if I had to choose... Blush, foundation, and Mascara would be like my top categories... 😂 I find that as I get older, the color of blush that looks good is changing! So I've definitely been experimenting more...

I didn't pick up the Givenchy powder... I heard some horrors about the reformulation and I was just like OH. WELL. I GUESS THIS IS A SIGN.

@jaaayp, the Tower 28 powder has arrived. 😊 Heat wave expected this week here, so it'll be a good time to put the powder to the test. I'll keep you posted. 

Yeah, I heard that the reformulated Givenchy powder is no bueno. I considered picking up a mini to compare it to the older / original version that I have but decided against based on the reviews I read (both on here and YT). 

I feel like I've picked up a lot more blush products this year, but "a lot more"; is relative; in previous years, I would probably pick up 0-1 new blush, so this year's blush purchases are a lot compared to that average.

I think Givenchy is too expensive to be wasted on to compare. I'm so sad this powder came onto my radar AFTER the reformulation smh. I hope the uprising makes them pur talc back in the formulation LOLOL

I’ve been more into cream and liquid blush but for powder, Gucci Luminous Matte Beauty Blush or, here’s a throwback, the blush shade in the Hourglass holiday quad, circa 2020 - I don’t know if they make the shade anymore, Mood Flush?

I have the Fenty powder blushes on my list, but I’m not sure whether I’ll pick it up or just wait to see what fall/winter brings.

The Gucci blush is on my list... just like how the Gucci spray is on my list.... @itsfi I think it may be this fall sale where I just go nuts and splurge on everything.

Although, idk. I'm kinda squirreling my coins for my new home DIYs.... decisions decisions. Just know if you see me tagging you on the Gucci haul, it means I've skipped on AC duct cleaning and I'm breathing bad air but looking fabulous 😂😂😂
