Some of this is from late July but heck if I can remember which items, and I’m not gonna pick through order confirmation emails to find out. 🙃 

Dior: 

A small order of things I couldn’t get anywhere else.

Diorshow Stylo 24H-Wear Waterproof Eyeliner shades Pearly Coral and Pearly Cobalt - 2 shades I couldn’t easily find anywhere but Dior direct. I think I’ve tried another shade of this eyeliner before? And I liked it? But I couldn’t find it in my hoard, then decided I need that Pearly Coral shade. Pearly Cobalt has some silver shimmer while Pearly Coral just looks slightly metallic on my skin tone—and I’m pleased with how they both swatched. I’ll see how they perform on my eyes sometime this week. 

DIOR Rouge Dior Refillable Lipstick (refill) shade 764 Gipsy Velvet - another shade apparently available as a refill only direct from Dior. I forgot these refills can be used without the case (I already have 2 cases); kinda nice if I wanna seriously streamline bag bulk, especially if I carry a very small bag or clutch. The refill plastic cap is very long, so it shouldn’t slip off in my bag. And Gipsy Velvet’s a lovely red. Someday I’ll swatch-compare it to other reds in my hoard… someday. 😅 

GWP: DS of La Collection Privée Gris EdP - haven’t opened the bottle yet to smell it because my nose has been stuffy; I wanna wait til I can detect more fragrance notes. I don’t think I’ve smelled Gris before, so this’ll be a fun discovery.

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Gloss Bomb Stix High-Shine Gloss Stick Hot Chocolit - the first shade I bought of this new line. (No, I haven’t worn any of ‘em on my lips yet.) I’m generally a fan of gloss sticks, and this one swatched mostly how I expected: good pigmentation, rather emollient, but not as glossy as I’d hoped for… I’d call this formula moderately glossy. Still very pretty though. Hope it doesn’t bleed/feather on my lips, though a good liner should help fix that. 

BASMA The Cream Blush Fuchsia - I finally caved on this shade. (I already have 2 other shades.) Whereas the LYS blush sticks are very pigmented from the get-go (which I love), BASMA’s blush is more of a buildable formula. It’s good to have both. I still wish BASMA had gone with a different case, but at least I’m now used to it enough to avoid digging my thumb nail into the blush each time I slide it open. 

Yves Saint Laurent Lines Liberated 24H Waterproof Eyeliner 5 (Prismatic Black) - ooooh, shiny sparkly black eyeliner! How can I resist that? 😂 I’ve never tried a YSL eyeliner, so this’ll be interesting. It felt nicely creamy on my hand, but not too soft. 👍

ILIA Lip Sketch Large Sharpener - a friend warned me that their ILIA Lip Sketch Hydrating Lipstick + Lip Liner Crayon didn’t get a sharp enough point in either of the 2 sharpeners (by other brands) they had on hand, including NARS’s. So I’ll see if ILIA’s own sharpener gets the job done. 

The Ordinary Argireline Solution 10% Serum for Facial Wrinkles 1 oz/ 30 mL - a restock. 

Sephora, Ulta, and Fenty: 

Aw, I already miss the white NARS logo on their lipsticks.

NARS Explicit Refillable Satin Lipstick Unrestrained – 886 - even as I added this shade to cart, I thought it might be very close to NARS Audacious lipstick shade Charlotte. But like omg I just had to try the new formula —especially since I always worry NARS will discontinue/replace the Audacious line. It’s unfair to judge the new Explicit formula on a single shade, and I do plan to buy another one for that purpose. For now, I’ll say Unrestrained isn’t as opaque as Charlotte. It’s a buildable color, but building Unrestrained requires smoothing out some streaks. I like it, but I’m too used to (and spoiled by) the Audacious bullets.

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Trace'd Out Longwear Waterproof Pencil Lip Liner Coal Blooded and Riri - so yeah, these liners are very creamy soft and smushable. In my swatch photo, you’ll see I had trouble getting a crisp line with either shade. Not sure how I feel about that… if I’ll constantly get broken tips during use, then these liners are a no-go. On a positive note, Coal Blooded is exactly the soft black/nearly black lip liner shade I wanted. (My 2 true black lip liners are discontinued shades, and Pat McGrath’s Deep Void is noticeably purple.) 

Fenty Lip Pencil Sharpener - after hearing from @danielledanielle that the new lip liners are too soft for their own good (which they are) and a dedicated sharpener was coming soon, I jumped on the sharpener as soon as I saw it at Fenty’s site. Though now that I’ve swatched the liners, I doubt any sharpener can keep ‘em even semi-pointy between uses. Eh, the sharpener didn’t cost much, so it’s not a loss. 

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Gloss Bomb Stix High-Shine Gloss Stick High'Biscus and Riri - one of these was an Ulta purchase. The other came direct from Fenty, mostly because I don’t like making retailers ship me just one item that costs less than $5 (the Fenty sharpener). 

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Waterproof Cream Eyeshadow Stick shade Golden Fern - a duochrome shadow stick I could no longer resist, especially since I love BB’s shadow sticks in general. Shifts from peachy coral to lime gold on my skin tone. 

Sephora GWP: DS of Commodity Milk Expressive Eau de Parfum - ah, one of those polarizing fragrances. I’ve smelled it in-store a couple times but don’t think I ever tried it on my arm. I think it’ll be fun to pair with other fragrances. 

By Terry sale and Ulta skincare:

• Rouge Expert Click Stick shade Chilly Cream - I’ve liked other shades of this lipstick over the years so hey, why not add an orangey coral. These are floral fragranced, but I usually can’t smell or taste them after the first 10 minutes of application.
• Hyaluronic Hydra-Primer - as a longtime fan of the setting powder, I felt obligated to try the primer. Rather than use it on my whole face, I’ll try it on my lids and undereyes. Eh, maybe on and around my nose too.
• Hyaluronic Glow Setting Mist - adding one more new-to-me competitor to my eventually upcoming setting spray showdown. 

First Aid Beauty Anti-Chafe Stick with Shea Butter + Colloidal Oatmeal 1.7 oz / 48 g (travel size) - good to have on hand for angry shoe-rubbed heels, among other things. I’ve never tried FAB’s stick before. Hope it works as well as others. 

Indeed Labs Snoxin II Facial Line Fighter Serum - while browsing Ulta, I realized I’ve never tried this product before, or anything containing mu-conotoxin cnIIIC (a peptide made to mimic marine cone snail venom as a muscle relaxer/line reducer). Curiosity demands I rectify that. Gotta put this on my bathroom counter so I’ll remember to do a head-to-head test of this vs. The Ordinary’s argireline serum. 

Ulta GWP: DS of Drunk Elephant B-Hydra - one of the few Drunk Elephant products my facial skin tolerates. I don’t buy DE products anymore but, eh, this sample may be handy for travel, or I might give it away.

Beautiful goodies @WinglessOne ! The Nars looks lovely on you. Sounds like we’re in agreement about it tho I really like it too! Wish it was more opaque but we probably have enough that are?! 🤣 Gipsy is so good. I wish other retailers carried all of the shades but oh well. The liners are really nice. Cobalt is on my list for a future order!  Enjoy your new stash!

Thanks @Sunnysmom ! I haven’t worn Unrestrained yet, so I’m reserving final judgement for now. Gotta see how it performs on my lips for a full day. And yeah, I wish NARS and Dior would let other retailers carry more shades. Also, I wish both brands would let us buy all, or at least most, of the shades as refills without cases. Neither of the 2 NARS Explicit shades I wanna try next are available as refill-only. 😡 (I ranted a bit about brands doing that in the Beauty Pet Peeves 2 thread a couple days ago.) I really don’t wanna buy another full component (lipstick + case) when I know these are fillable. Kinda makes the refill aspect pointless. 

ANYWAY… hope you enjoy Pearly Cobalt when you get it! Though if you already have PAT McGRATH LABS PermaGel Eyeliner Pencil Blitz Blue, I posted a swatch comparison photo further down in these comments to show how close it is to that Dior shade. Formulas might behave differently though. 🤷‍♀️

Sounds good @WinglessOne . I really agree on the refill thing. It’s so frustrating. So few shades are ever offered it seems! Except good old Chanel! 🤣 I saw your comments and swatch below so that’s great. I think I do still have that one so I’ll hold off tho I do love the feel of the Dior. So you think it has more glitter or chunky bits then ? Vs the Pat? That I don’t want if so. It kind of appears that way from your pic. Appreciate your thoughts!

@Sunnysmom  Dior’s liner does seem a bit more sparkly than Pat’s, but it didn’t feel gritty or chunky on my hand. I haven’t tried it on my eyes yet, so jury’s still out on how it performs and feels on my sensitive lids. I wish Ulta or Nordstrom was getting Pearly Cobalt, so folks could swatch-compare it in person to Pat’s Blitz Blue liner. Heck, maybe one or both stores will get that shade at some point.

Ok thanks @WinglessOne . I love the other new Dior liners so I bet this one is good too. It doesn’t seem like a huge stretch for this shade to be elsewhere and not an exclusive. Sheesh. Lol Meant to ask about the YSL liner too. It’s also in my cart!

Thanks @caitbird ! I have one other Bobbi Brown duochrome/opalescent shadow stick, and now I’m trying to remember if these are permanent or special/limited edition… I think they’re permanent and just 2 or 3 shimmer shades. They are kinda special and unexpected from this brand.
