Loving the luxe brand eyeliners! I was looking at Chanel ones in Nordstrom or Bloomingdales-I was drawn to a seafoam and purple one. That cobalt looks gorgeous! @WinglessOne 😍

Thanks @Buootiful ! I almost bought a Chanel eyeliner during my Ulta visit. Chanel’s launching a purple mascara later this month (they already have a pastel lilac one I didn’t buy; the new one’s a deeper amethyst), so I’ll probably get a liner when I get that mascara—if I can convince myself to spend $42 on a mascara. 😅

@greeneyedgirl107  Hmm, off the top of my head, discontinued products come to mind… I swear half the stuff I love gets discontinued (or the brand folds). 🤦‍♀️ Lemme go swatch a few things… 

D’oh, I left out the About Face Cherry Pick lipsticks (I have 2 shades). Those are very glossy and pigmented, though almost too emollient for their own good. I’m sure I’m leaving others out as well… eh, some things I call “gloss sticks,” others might call shiny/glossy balms or oil sticks or whatever. The original Fenty Poutsicles were marketed as shiny satin lipsticks, but they were very emollient and quite glossy back then. The 2 I swatched for that photo have settled into more of a cream lipstick texture, so they’re far less streaky now (hooray!) yet still moderately glossy.

Oooh I've never thought to use a stick on my dry work day ragged heels. I use ( unsuccessfully) thicker creams.

Can I ask,  do you think the ILIA Lip Sketch Large Sharpener would work well on PM's lip crayons?

@CynthieLu  If you just need something for dry skin on your heels (vs. trying to keep shoes from rubbing your heels raw), a little Aquaphor, Vaseline, CeraVe Healing Ointment, etc. on that damp skin should help a lot. 😉 In fact, Aquaphor or CeraVe’s ointment may even help cushion skin a bit against shoes. In the US, Aquaphor and Vaseline sell stick balms—not lip balm, I mean larger twist-up sticks. Those are also handy for on-the-go and travel. Vaseline calls theirs “Body Balm Jelly Stick.” 

About the ILIA sharpener: ILIA’s crayons are thinner than Pat’s, which is why ILIA’s doesn’t do well in most other brands’ sharpeners. Pat’s crayons won’t fit in ILIA’s sharpener, but they do fit in NARS’s—though I can’t get a pointy tip with the NARS sharpener. That means I’ll probably grab Pat’s new dual sharpener since I have 2 shades of her crayon. 

When brands release crayons or liners and a sharpener, that sharpener’s probably designed specifically for their own crayons/liners. I find the NARS sharpener works pretty well with a lot of other brand’s stuff, but maybe not as well as another brand’s own sharpener would. So for Pat’s crayons, NARS Pencil Sharpener will do the job, you’ll just always have kind of a nubby end on the crayon.

There's a case I want at Dior, so I feel like it's now justified more so looking at pearly cobalt

@danielledanielle  Hmm, before you grab Pearly Cobalt, lemme show you somethin’: 

Added 2 LH Cosmetics shades for the heck of it, plus GXVE’s blue as another point of color reference.

PAT McGRATH LABS PermaGel Eyeliner Pencil Blitz Blue is less violet than Pearly Cobalt, which has more visible fuchsia glitter pinpoints than Blitz Blue. This makes Dior’s look cooler toned than Pat’s. I’m not kicking myself for having both shades; to me, they’re different enough to justify keeping Dior’s. But I know some folks would call them similar enough, so I wanted to show ‘em side by side. 

Someone told me “you know NARS Audacious Lipstick case has a black logo too,” and yeah it does, but it’s one letter per side of the square tube, so you can still do the neat logo lineup when you line bullets up side by side, and you can’t do that with the new round 1-sided logo cases and you just don’t get it man, it’s different and I don’t like it —and yes, I realize how silly this sounds coming from someone who’s rarely swayed by packaging design (aside from usability issues). 😂 But still!

@WinglessOne, Ooooh ok.  I ended up getting a brush, yes...I know... enough already, and didn't get the liner.  I have the Gxve and Pat you do kindly swatched, 🙏🏽, so I can hold off until next purchase 🤣, or longer.  Who knows?

Also, I'm gonna back you up in that the white lettering on their lips is functional.

I can't see the logo when it's black on black for the life of me, so when I reach into a makeup bag, is actually really helpful.

Nars is funny like that, aren't they?  They do these low-key, very helpful things and then ignore it, for example their complexion products have a shade/number system but then they switch between locations and desserts when they feel like it.  Same thing for lips.   Like, all the NARS Powermatte Long-Lasting Lipstick are their shades on the case.  I didn't realize it at first and when I did, I was like... That's brilliant! And so pleasing.  Same for the new pencils and the liquid ones have little windows.  It's such a nice, aesthetic and system and then they just pretend it doesn't exist.  Nars, why are you like this?!!
