I think everyone can agree that 2020 was a tough year for all and one to remember. We learned about what really matters in life and to cherish the people around us.  To appreciate and thank the frontline workers who risk their lives everyday for us.  As well as how to adapt to the new norm-working from home, virtual learning for our kids, and wearing a mask out. 

I think we all can’t wait for a fresh start and new beginning for the New Year and a little escape from reality.  Please share your hauls for this month and what you look forward to this New Year!

@WinglessOne, @Sunnysmom, @blackkitty2014 do you have any swatches of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Collection Iridescent Flash or can you recommend me powder blushes that would look great on my skin tone? I'm a deep tan.

I hit pan on my Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush 08 Summertime Wine and it looks AH-MAZING on me, but I want powder now, because I want my face to be completely matte. I bought that a year ago when I was still inexperienced with makeup products.

I am willing to accept other community members' suggestions for powder blush brands/shades.

I do have the blush @rosegoldlovely , (here she is alongside Incandescent strobe light because I couldn’t originally remember which one you asked about! 😂 These names confuse me when they have similarities. 🙄🤣)  Iridescent flash does have slight shimmer etc but is super pretty. Note that I am light warm toned however. Think @WinglessOne also showed At Last blush from holiday collection correct? If not I have it too. Or maybe I showed it too. Nice more pigmented shade. Hope this helps. 🤗🥰

@rosegoldlovely  NARS still makes my favorite powder blushes. I don't have Fenty Summertime Wine, but I know it's a near exact dupe of NARS Penthouse, which is one of my favorite powder blush shades ever. Penthouse is only available in the NARSissist Wanted II cheek palette (I wish they'd release it as a single!), and that palette's hard to find anymore. The closest current NARS powder blush dupe I've found so far is NARS Blush Aroused : it's a bit cooler toned and was my favorite blush shade of 2020. 

If you're interested in NARS blushes, check their site in addition to Sephora. Looks like they've discontinued a few shades (NARS Y U KILL OUTLAW OMG THAT SHADE WAS MY 2018/2019 JAM), but you'll still find the widest selection at NARS direct. I can easily recommend their powder blushes over Hourglass, Natasha Denona, MAC, and any other brand. I mean, I love some blushes by those brands but, for me, they don't perform as well as NARS, nor do they come in as wide and workable (for me) a shade range. Eh, sometimes NARS's palette blushes aren't as good as their single pan versions, but the Wanted II palette is a good one if you happen to find it somewhere. 

I'd swatch all my NARS powder blushes tonight, but that'd take a while. 🤣 If you want a matte red blush, NARS Blush Exhibit A is a boldly pigmented option you'll want to apply very carefully/sparingly. Seriously, you can give yourself an accidental sunburn or Pikachu cheeks with that blush. I'm a big fan of the matte shade Liberte, which NARS describes as "burnished apricot." On me, it's somewhere between terra cotta and orange-toned coral. I also love several of the shimmer shades, like NARS Blush Savage , Taos, and good ol' Taj Mahal.

@WinglessOne I love, love, love Nars blushes.  There was a NARS stand-alone store where I live (its currently closed) and prior to COVID, I loved spending time browsing in the store.
