@danielledanielle, I spy some repeat purchases in this haul - love seeing that, especially those SC caffeine eye masks; they're marvelous and I love how you arranged them here. Speaking of arrangements, the layout and lighting on that first photo ... beautiful. My eye keeps going back to it. 

And about what catches my eye, would love to know what you think about that DM brush and the belief eye pen after you've put them to use.

@itsfi, indeed.. Most of these are on repeat now that I think of it - the beauty water, brow pens, the liner, the candles and the eye patches.  With all the reformulations and discontinuations, I'm happy to stock up at sale time.  (Those Gxve brow pens kept getting OOS'ED every sale, and I fear they are next.)

That Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Face 3.0 Targeted All Over Face Conceal & Sculpt Brush- For liquid, Cre...  is soft, dare I say (this soon) the on par with its predecessor -  Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Face 1.0 All Over Complexion Brush - For Foundation, Blush, Bronzer & P... ??  It didn't pick up my PAT McGRATH LABS Sublime Perfection Concealer this morning and blending it out nicely.

Dior: 

Mine arrived intact, though some customers’ Premiers arrived broken.

Premier Lipstick (refill) shade 7 - just the refill, because I’m not about to spend USD $530 on the accompanying ceramic + 18k gold case. 🤣 It’s pretty but I’d worry too much about breaking it on the go, or even at home. Plus, five hundred thirty US dollars for a lipstick case? Nah, I’m not nearly that serious a collector. So I love that the refills work without the case. And considering the refill’s price, I appreciate the small details Dior added: the engraved gold cap and the star-shaped bottom cutout (meant to fit over a post in the super fancy case’s base).

The Premier collection was a 2023 holiday release, IIRC. The shades were “inspired by the haute couture heritage of the House of Dior.” I wish Dior had mentioned the exact inspiration for each shade—kinda like Prada showing which of their fabric prints inspired each of their quads. Anyway, shade 7’s a beautiful pinky red, almost raspberry matte:

If I look closely at my lips in a magnifying mirror, I can see the 24k gold mixed into the Premier formula. Dior says it’s supposed to give each Premier shade a luminous look. 7 feels like a true matte bullet on my lips (more matte than a MatteTrance but less drying than a MAC Retro Matte bullet) but looks slightly less matte than it really is. Sheesh, that’s a lotta “matte” repeated in that sentence—but really, I wouldn’t call this truly demi-matte or plush. Weight wise, it feels about the same as the Koh Gen Do Maifanshi lipstick I recently bought: slightly lighter weight than the average lipstick, but not amazingly so compared to, say, Westman Atelier’s matte bullet.

I’ve worn shade 7 at home for a few hours over the last few days. It feels okay with my usual lip balm (Aquaphor Ointment) underneath. I wouldn’t be able to comfortably wear this without a balm base: even with that, 7 feels a tiny bit drying, just enough to make me think I should’ve used either more balm or a lip primer (in addition to balm) underneath. It has a floral fragrance that (for me) is just shy of headache-inducing—not a super strong scent, just the type of sharp floral that often sets me off—and it took about 20 minutes for the smaste to disappear.

Since it’s matte, it doesn’t bleed or feather, though I did get messy corners during application that needed cleanup. Otherwise, application was an easy 2 coats. Haven’t worn it long enough to see how it wears down; gotta do a full day’s wear test for that. But within 2 hours, it pools in my lip lines and causes striping (not noticeable until I smile, and even then you’d need to be up in my face to see it). Rubbing my lips together fixes some of that, but this matte formula isn’t emollient enough for graceful color redistribution. It might do well layered under a gloss or balm, or even mixed with a tiny bit of balm. I’ll find out soon enough.

I recently said Koh Gen Do’s Maifanshi lipstick’s not worth its $65 price tag. But what about Dior’s Premier lipstick refill? Shade 7 is beautiful, but this is not $65 level performance—though I haven’t worn it a full day yet, so I should probably withhold final judgement til then. For now, I’m not impressed enough to buy a second shade. It’s not a fail or a no-go, just… not worth its price. 

@Sunnysmom Have you worn yours a full day yet? If yes, what’d you think? I wanted a couple other shades but now I’ve changed my mind. 😅

Thank you @CookieGirl1! As much as I (still) hate the Westman Atelier lipstick case, that lipstick performs like it’s worth its price, or even Dior’s Premier price. Eh, I’ve been playing around with my Premier shade and found a few ways to keep it from drying out my lips, so I can still keep that beautiful color.

Thanks @curlychiquita ! Yeah, I expect a $65 lipstick to outperform less expensive ones and Dior’s doesn’t. It doesn’t even outperform Dior’s regular Velvet lipsticks. 🤦‍♀️ But the color! The color! I’m determined to make this lipstick work, dang it. 😂

It is really a beautiful shade on you @WinglessOne ! Now I can see the gold! Couldn’t on mine! Lol Yup I’m of the same mind. I love the color and details too. But… I think it’s a lot for a refill for how it performs or doesn’t

perform I should say. Yes I am a fool and bought the Chanel 31 but I love love that formula in comparison. Also ugh.  😆 This does feel like a velvet matte to me but a bit more drying , tho I wouldn’t say it’s not comfortable. I have worn it on its own and don’t really need a balm underneath tho I think I probably had some leftover before I applied it after my usual routine. So maybe that helped but I didn’t have any balm on when I reapplied. It did not last super long. Maybe a few hours? I hoped for a better stain at the end. I did have lunch tho so I reapplied it and it still made it only one or 2 more if that. It did the same thing as yours- settled in the corners and was left with color around my lip outline vs all over. 😞  That surprised me. Not really patchy but not super smooth as some others. I’m so glad we could just buy the refill too! That helped. Wish I loved it more because I really wanted your color or 12 when it comes back in stock. I too am rethinking! Money saved if not! @danielledanielle tell me about color 12 please or show us?! Love to see it irl. Swatch is fine of course! 💞

Thank you @Sunnysmom for the compliment and feedback! Yeah, the reformulated Velvets feel a bit better (less drying) to me too. Today I wore a Velvet on half my lips and the Premier on the other half so I could do a head-to-head comparison, just to make sure I wasn’t imagining that. 😂 Ugh, sorry to hear your Premier didn’t wear very long or wear down gracefully throughout the day. That tells me I’ll definitely need a lip primer (in addition to balm) underneath mine. I dunno, House Dior, this is more extra work than expected just to wear your haute couture lipstick! 🫠 If the refills were priced under $40 like the DIOR Rouge Dior Refillable Lipstick 999, then I might buy a second one. But they’re not, so I won’t. 

And hey now, the Chanel 31 refill + glass case does cost a lot less than Dior’s Premier refill + ceramic/gold case. Even though the 31 refills don’t work without the case, and they are pricy (considerably more expensive than the Premier refills), and the case is glass, that whole Chanel lipstick package still seems a better deal to me than the whole Dior Premier package. Especially if the 31 formula’s very good. So, there’s no shame in buying Chanel’s. Which is probably how I’ll justify the purchase myself, if/when I finally place an order. 😅

Def true @WinglessOne ! $50 even would be acceptable since it was touted as so very special lol. I’m not sure what I thought it would be but we know we’re always looking for the next best new favorite! 😅 Also so true, it’s nice there’s always something crazier and more $ so the next “step” down feels so normal and a-ok. Ha. I would never ever buy the Dior case lovely as it is. The Chanel is clearly a bargain. 🤣 I do think you may love them. Both formulas. Treat yourself soon as you’re needing that little extra special something I say. (And before they go up again?! Sheesh Chanel, not ok. ) The case is just so cool and tho mine doesn’t leave home yet there may come a day. Because I do miss reapplying it when I’m out. Beauteous shades too. I do love this Dior shade on you! 💞

@Sunnysmom  Heh, this morning I was at Chanel’s site ordering the new amethyst shade of Noir Allure mascara, and I aaalllmost added a 31 Le Rouge. I heard my wallet shout “DON’T EVEN,” so I obeyed. This time. 😂 I could visit my local Chanel boutique to see the shades in person, but I know I’d end up waaay overspending, so I stay away from that store. But eventually, I’ll end up with one of those lipsticks. Maybe while my wallet’s looking the other way.

I knew it was hopeless for me @WinglessOne so I just resigned myself to it tho at first I did not know the price of the set or refills. Glad I didn’t! Can’t wait to hear and see if you do pick something up. 😊
