Happy holidays, ladies!
I know a few of us have been talking in the past week or so about the Traveling Sephora Box. There are a few of them going on the Sephora Facebook website, but many of us spend alot of time here and virtually none over there. I think beauty talk is more fun and user friendly, so I thought I would start a box here. This is a great way to get rid of things that don't work for you, share with your fellow beauty junkies, and help out women who are less fortunate. (Powder to the people!!Mascara for mankind!!!))
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the boxes, here are the rules we are using:
1)The items can be skin care, makeup, hair, etc.
2)They can be full sized, deluxe samples or regular samples.
3)The majority of the items MUST be Sephora, but you can throw in other things. Just make sure that they are things with brand names, no dollar store stuff. (i.e. Nyx is ok.) I would use the rule of for every 1 item non-Sephora related, throw in 3 Sephora items to counter-balance. 😉 Unless it's a high end item like MAC or Guerlain-- use your common sense. (Thanks, kalex!!)
4)Once or twice used/swatched items can be included, but no more than 2 used items per person without checking with us first. Used items MUST be in "like new{ condition. For makeup that has been used, please disinfect it with some alcohol before putting into the the box.
5)Please baggy each individual item and label, this way product won't get everywhere if something is damaged.
6)For every item you take out of the box, please replenish with something of equal or greater value. Example: You cannot take a FS product and replace it with a sample or Deluxe Sample. Also, please post what you took out of the box when you receive it.
7)Please get the box back in the mail no more than 72 hours after receiving it. If you cannot comply, please let us know right away. If taking vacations, please let us know if it is conflict with when you will be receiving the box. We can always switch you with another participant, or find another solution.
8)Every one, must ship via Priority Mail WITH Delivery Confirmation, pm'ing the recipient and myself with the DC#.
At the end, the box will come back to me, I will take a few items and then the rest will be donated to a local women's shelter.
I have a list of 5 to 6 people that are definitely interested and the list will be limited to 25 people. If you contacted me ahead of time your screen name witll already be on the list.
For those of you interested in joining, add yourslef to the list, cut and paste and repost the list to this board.
I've decided to shorten the number of open slots in the list so that we can get this box going because I based this one on the way they were doing it on FB and there are LOTS more people that look at it. It seems a shorter list fits our purposes better-- otherwise we will be waiting forever for the list to get populated! I'm waiting for two people to get back to me that I PM'ed a few days ago. If I don't hear from them by tomorrow, I will get the box in the mail then so we can get rolling!!
Happy Haulidays, Share-a Haulics!!!!!!!
Blessings to everyone!!!!!!!!
Amazing. Thanks Mermadelove for starting our first TSB at BT and for donating the box to a good place, and thanks for everyone helped the success of this box with the amazing turnaround times and honesty and integrity!
Awesome to hear of how successful this first round of TSB has been! Great job, everyone!!
Hi everyone!
Just so you all know, I donated the first TSB to a coworker. This is the story:
Last week her house burned to the ground. They lost two of their pets and were pretty much left with the clothes on their back. The lady that got the box also has a teenaged daughter, and they intend to go through the box, take what they can use, and donate the rest. This lady ( her name is Heather) is known for her generosity. I went up to the ICU to visit her today and I told her that since I've known her, I've always heard her on the phone giving advice, support, money, gifts, etc to her entire community. I told her that this experience, although awful in some ways, was giving her the opportunity to be on the receiving end of all of the generosity she has put out in the world. It brought tears to her eyes..
It's funny because I had just heard back from the social worker that a good place to donate would be to the American Cancer Society. They have a community based program called "Look Good Feel Better." IT helps cancer patients do makeovers so that they can feel better about themselves and their situation. This is a national effort, but you can call the American Cancer Society's 800 number and find out the local chapter and donate there. This is what I will do the next time I start a TSB. I did want to share the idea, because a few of you were wondering about where to donate TSB's when you started one.
So thanks, everyone, for helping a beautiful soul get her beauty back on and share a beautiful experience with her daughter after their personal tragedy.
Blessings!
I'm so glad you gave the box to your co-worker! How terrible. I hope she and her family are doing okay. I wish them the best.

Look Good Feel Better is getting a lot of coverage lately. It's gone beyond national. 🙂 In September I ran in a high heels race that raised money for this organization. It's an annual thing and I plan on doing it next year, too. Great idea, mermadelove!
I was just checking in to see if the first box had made its way around and saw that it got a wonderful home. I feel so sorry for her and her family for losing their home and pets (which were part of the family if they were like mine). If she needs anything like clothes, please PM me with her and her family's sizes and I'll see what I can come up with. I will pray for her and her family. Great job, mermadelove, on getting the box to a deserving person! Bless all of you gals that participated...it was fun. 🙂
Thanks for sharing your story with us! What an awful thing to have happen to your co-worker. I hope she gets better and out of the icu soon...

Sorry for the confusion: she WORKS in the ICU, like I did up until two weeks ago. But her house did get burned and robbed!
Beauty products were probably one of the last things on her mind, but I hope that the box made her day a little brighter! I can't even imagine that happening to me. I just found out last night that my HOA is suing our builder due to structural defects that practically all of our houses supposidly have. I thought that was bad, but I guess I should be more optimistic, as things could be a lot worse!

Isn't it amazing how tragedies close to home put things into perspective? When I told her that she now had the opportunity to receive the generosity she always demonstrates to others, she said to me that one of the things that got her through was that she said to herself what she was going through was nothing compared to what I've gone through in the last year. She almost brought tears to my eyes. She is always thinking of other people. Several people have PM'd me with offers for things for her and her family and when I deliver the other donations from BeautyTalk, I am going to make sure she knows how many people, from far and wide, are rooting for her and her family!
That is so cool! I'm glad to hear our box found a good home. Also, I'm interested in checking out the Look Good Feel Better program to see what kind of donations they could use.
I know, right? I was pretty excited to hear about that program, but I wanted my first box to go a little closer to home. 🙂
That was an excellent place for the box to go. Can you imagine losing everything??? I can't even begin to imagine how I'd feel.
She has souch a good attitude about it, too!! But it's alot of work. The worst part is that someone came and STOLE THE COPPER PIPING out of the house AND stole the only dresser that didn't burn-- which had her husband's clothes in it! Can you imagine that?! I know times are rough, but seriously???
I'm glad the box went to someone who could use it! Does she need anything else we could send to you? Is she and her family doing ok?
But wow, people can be such jerks. Talk about kicking someone when they're down. I don't care if people don't believe in God or karma or whatever - eventually, in one way or another, what you do comes back to you. (I hope they can't get the smoke smell out of the clothes and they end up not being able to benefit out of their thievery. Hah!)
You ladies are great! For whatever else I can complain about in this community, everyone sure comes together when there is a tragedy. Aside from the makeup, they have received clothing and money ($675) from the ICU alone ( We are a SMALL staff, I think a total of 15) and the hospital is accepting donations on the family's behald, and the Employees Always Care fund is also making a donation. Their insurance company is going to help them salvage/rebuild, but that part is just going to t ake a while. Especially since the ground is frozen up here and will probably be like that until the end of April. If anything else does come up, I'll let you know!
Thank you!
That's an awesome haul! I can't wait to donate this box. The NEK will be a more beautiful place because of it!! :))

As far as a meet-and-greet, anybody want to meet and storm the Sephora store in Knoxville, Tennessee? Beautiful Smoky Mountains National Park and Dollywood (it's an amusement park) is close, too. With my schedule it's hard for me to travel very far at anytime. Just a thought...

Oooh, I am so looking forward getting the package! What a treat, I am so tired of dark, snowy days, a bit of cheerfulness in a box!
(Not that I am complaining about the weather, we haven't been buried in snow like places east of us!)
Where I live people were BEGGING for the snow! It's a big part of the local economy and we haven't gotten nearly as much as we usually do!
Now that I'm theoretically done shopping for the year forseeable future, all my package fun is going to come from the various TSB's!!!! I totally am withyou, prettyinpa!
