It’s that time again to share your October hauls. I can’t wait to see what everyone gets especially since holiday releases are coming out.

@CookieGirl1  So far I’ve worn Candy Yum Yummy a full day, and I’ve done a 3-hour at-home wear test of both shades. They feel fine on my lips: I can’t feel the shimmer in them (no gritty texture) and they don’t dry my lips out. They kinda feel like the MACximal satin bullets, but a touch lighter weight since these crayons aren’t fully opaque. I can build CYY up to, oh, 85-90% opacity. Several layers of the other shade (Cosmic Plum) gets me about 80-85% opacity. They apply smoothly for me; neither shade is streaky, patchy, or tuggy. I like ‘em. I might go back for the metallic violet one, though I already have something similar—but not in crayon form, which is reason enough for me to grab it. 🙃

@WinglessOne obviously I'm not expecting that they'll have crazy-insane long wear but do they stay on a decent amount of time?

@CookieGirl1  Yep. For me, CYY (the shade I wore all day) wore longer than some of MAC’s frost finish bullets. And of course, with all the glitter in these crayons, I heavily fairydusted my chin and all the skin around my mouth while removing both shades. 😂 

While I’m here again, here are photos from the night I did an at-home wear test for a few hours:

Photos taken right after application. CYY is 2.5 coats. Cosmic Plum is at least 4 coats. 😄 And I don’t know how the last y in CYY turned into a v.

Those pics don’t capture how metallic sparkly CYY is, or how colorshifty Cosmic Plum is. I took a photo during my full-day wear test of CYY but it’s too blurry to be useful.

Also, thank you, I feel seen on ysl choices.  I only have the Chili one, but I like the smooth feel, it's giving old Nars 🥲 for me.

@danielledanielle  Those YSL promo model photos would’ve fooled me had I not swatched a few shades in-store. 🤦‍♀️I was glad to see them release 2 or 3 more pigmented shades and kinda adjust their marketing. And now I might need to compare Spicy Berry to a NARS OG blush. (Note to self!)

First time I swatched that blue palette was inside a Sephora. A bystander and I both said “wow, that’s a turquoise palette!” When I got home, I realized I didn’t already have a palette that’s mostly robin egg colors, which makes this one “my” palette. 😉

A few purchases from the first half of the month, with a medley of things - skincare, makeup, fragrance and tools/accessories. 

I have one (1) dual-ended Makeup by Mario brush and have noted on more than one occasion that I wished they came in single-ended brushes, so when that actually came to be, I had to pick up the set. The plan was to take these with me on my recent trip out of town but I ended up taking just 2 brushes from a Danessa Myricks x My Kit Co. set.

I had my eye on Typology's advent calendar last year, but by the time that became available online, I had more than my share of advent calendars (imagine that!! 😂). Told myself I'd pick it up this year & I kept to my word. 😉

I love seeing Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit Cologne Travel Spray come back for the holidays. The gourmand fragrance has that comfy, cozy, holiday feel, especially with the ginger and the cinnamon in it. I may *need* the candle version. 😉

Merit x Brandon Maxwell (limited edition), a muted, cool berry wears nicely with m.ph by Mary Phillips The Overliner Lip Liner Pencil - Cherry Cola. I didn't purchase them with the intention of pairing them up but they really get on very well. The aesthetic on the Merit lipstick complements the brand's new eyeshadows nicely as well.

[NOTE: I caught a cold on my flight back (pretty sure it was on the flight) so I'll have to circle back with more details on the fragrance notes and swatches of the lip products another time, either back here or another thread, or elsewhere on BIC.]

are the MBM brushes travel sized or regular sized? I didn’t even realize he had brushes other than the double ended! 
That same Ginger Biscuit is on my list for the sale. I feel like it’ll be a lovely scent to get me into holiday vibes!
