I just used GXVE BY GWEN STEFANI All Time Prime Clean Hydrating Prep & Smooth Face Oil 0.95 fl oz. / 28 mL this morning, it was lonely in the back of my makeup cabinet, it's such a great face primer 👌 I can't believe I let it fall out of sight.

How do you like the Rephr brushes, @Sunnysmom ?  I'm still debating picking up a few eye brushes while they're on sale.

I like the feel of them so far @CookieGirl1 . I’d been wanting to try a few. I purchased numbers 4, 5 and 24 and at this point have only tried no. 5 with a Kosas blush. It seemed to pick up the perfect amount without much fuss at all and with just the right amount of firmness. Love to hear your thoughts if you pick some up.

Always grateful for another turn around the sun @WinglessOne thank you! I am enjoying the concealer and also dabbling with it in lieu of a face tint too. I may want another shade for that to blend. It feels wonderful. Waiting on her Lip Grip that you also bought. How are you feeling about it now vs the MAC we both love?

@Sunnysmom  I still haven’t tried the lip primer, even though I’ve had it sitting out to remind me to use it. 🤦‍♀️ It’d be smart to do a 1-2 hour test tonight, and then a longer test later this week. Gonna go pick one of my chronic bleeder lipsticks right now for testing. 

UPDATE: okay, 5 minutes into wearing Sarah Creal Lip Grip Peptide Priming Treatment Clear as a full base coat under Urban Decay Vice bullet Firebird, I can say this primer is GRIPPY. 😂 Not drying (for me anyway; I’m wearing my usual thin layer of Aquaphor Ointment beneath it), just GRIPPY. Even when I first applied this primer, before adding lipstick, I could feel that tacky texture. I can also feel it through Firebird, so anyone who hates any level of stickiness in lipstick will not like this primer. 

If I don’t use a lip primer, Firebird usually feathers within the first 5 minutes of wear and goes into full bleed within 15 minutes. MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Lip Primer 0.05 oz/ 1.7 g + a lip liner contains Firebird for me. SC Lip Grip has stopped Firebird from feathering at all so far. That’s impressive! And Firebird still looks satiny shiny as usual. It just feels moderately sticky, thanks to the GRIPPY primer beneath it. (Firebird doesn’t normally feel sticky at all to me.) This primer won’t stop lipstick from transferring, but it does seem to help keep color on my lips, so it should extend Firebird’s wear time. I’ll keep monitoring this situation for the next hour or two.

Well this is very promising to hear @WinglessOne , thank you! It sounds like both of them have their place if some lipsticks could benefit from a more grippy version vs smooth. Mine just arrived so I am anxious to try it with various lips. I got a few of the new D and G lips in satin and matte so I’m wondering how it’ll work against them! We’ll have to keep comparing notes as we go! 😊

Let’s kick off fall with a haul! 🍁🦃

 

First item is the Gisou Honey Infused Hydrating Lip Oil Cherry On The Cake! I love this so much! It smells wonderful, like cherry candy. It also is very long lasting (stayed on a whole dance rehearsal) and very pigmented. I might need to get a second for the future since it’s limited edition 🍰🍒

 

Second Item - Tower 28 Beauty SOS Rescue Bestsellers Kit. This was such a good deal! I already love the spray and needed a restock, so I got this set. And if I do girl math, the full size lip balm and mini moisturizer was $12 dollars! The lip balm is amazing! It smells of vanilla and is very thick, I think of it as more of a lipmask. I also love the moisturizer, it also vanilla scented. 

Third Item - Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa Perfume Travel Minis Set. Amazing set for such a good price. I already loved all these scents, and now I have them for traveling. My faves are 59 and 62 ❤️🩷💜💛

Lastly - #MAKEUP BY MARIO Mini Sculpt & Pop On-The-Go. First time trying this brand and so far I like it! It’s a little hard to blend the contour, but overall pretty good! 

For Free Samples I chose

Supergoop! Mineral Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 1.7 oz / 50 ml 

Peace Out 2% Salicylic Acid Acne Gel Cleanser 4 oz / 118 ml. I already love the Supergoop, I’m excited to try the cleanser. 

And it’s not here yet, but my mom saw an Instagram reel on this small business called Subtl Beauty, and it’s basically customized stackable makeup. We both ordered some to try, and I’ll let you know what I think!

@ChickenGurlie, the Gisou lip oils are marvelous - tinted and untinted ones. I love the shade & shimmer of Cherry on the Cake; it'd be great if she made it a permanent part of her line, but with it being limited edition, a back up doesn't seem like a bad idea at all.
