Ahhh, yes consistency. I had to force myself back out of bed to do my night routine last night. Sometimes, you just want to sleep 😴

I like to think that my skin is built Ford tough, but these dark spots from any bit of damage claim otherwise. I'll do a patch test as you've suggested! Thank you @itsfi

Ahhh, good for you for getting yourself out of bed to wash up @furbie! I understand how hard that can be. Do you have a quick and easy nighttime skincare routine for those nights you just want to sleep?

Oh my goodness, your “built Ford tough” has me imagining their commercials but instead of an F-150 climbing up a rugged terrain, I’m envisioning your skincare products lined up to work its magic. 😂 

What are you currently using for dark spots?

I've been using mainly Sunday Riley for my skincare @itsfi. The spots have improved, but not to the point that I feel comfortable going out without my foundation or some sort of cover-up. However, I've only become diligent about my skincare routine within the past month. In that time, the once-raised scars have flattened out, and the scars appear lighter/less noticeable than before. But, they're still there and I feel like it makes me ugly and that's all ppl see. 

During the day I use Sunday Riley C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil Sunday Riley Pink Drink Firming Resurfacing Peptide Face Mist Sunday Riley C.E.O. 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum KORA Organics Turmeric Glow Foaming Cleanser 5 oz / 150 mL and Nadinola Extra Strength Fade Cream from Walgreens. Sometimes I use a 20% glycolic acid pad and skip the Pink Drink, but I normally forget.

At night: Kora's Cleanser, SR Pink Drink, Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare DRx SpectraLite™ FaceWare Pro Sunday Riley Luna Retinol Sleeping Night Oil Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One AHA Lactic Acid Treatment Sunday Riley ICE Ceramide Moisturizer with Vitamin F 1.7 oz/ 50 mL 

The night routine is so tiresome because of the waiting between layers, but my skin feels amazing in the mornings!

Oy @furbie you didn't ask, but let me say ve kinder to yourself, too.  We all have those days, but TRUST no one is looking at your skin as harshly as you look at it.  Skin is lived in experience, it shows, defends and experiences everything as practically your largest organ.  Also, as ladies there's a lot of hormonal ish that goes on 🙄

Stay hydrated, be consistent and forgiving, and healthy diet.

@furbie, that’s great to hear that you have found a routine that is giving you good results! 🙌🏼 Your dark spots will lighten; with so many things, it’s about consistency. So kudos to you for putting in the effort - all the work up to now and all the work to follow. You got this!!! 👊🏼 

I went through a phase for years dealing with adult acne and then hormonal cystic acne along my chin and jawline. It’s finally under control (for the most part) and stayed the way for the last 9-10+ months. Finding and sticking to a good skincare routine, changing my diet (minimal to no dairy was big, watching my gluten intake and taking probiotics), etc helped.

Ohhhh, gluten can be a big GI stressor. I've only recently learned that so many things in my body that weren't "normal" were caused by an unhealthy gut. I'm happy that your cystic acne is gone. I've been told it is painful.

@itsfi gives some awesome skincare advice @furbie. She got me started on the DIOR Capture Dreamskin 1-Minute Mask 2.5 oz / 75 mL . It is great for when you want to use a treatment that works quickly.

Ahhh, thank you so much for your kind words @Loretta55! That means a lot. Dior makeup and fragrance generate a lot of buzz, and deservedly so as I find their products to be wonderful. Their skincare doesn't get as much hype as I think it is deserving of. Some of that may be the cost as well as their products having fragrance, and possibly that it's not as available as their makeup and fragrance items, but I've found their skincare to be very good as well. @furbie
