T’was the week before Christmas and all through the malls, BIC’ers were shopping and collecting their hauls…

Happy December to everyone! There will surely be plenty of delightfully decadent December hauls as we all get ready for the holidays. Whether they’re gifts from loved ones or something for yourself, show of your holiday hauls for everyone to see!

Happy birthday to all the December babies! (If you’re like some of my relatives, I’m sorry you only ever got one present at this time of year… You are still very special!)

I’m in love with these right now @PrettyPaint! They layer pretty well with lip balm so they don’t cause any issues. And they last and last, even through eating.

Okay @RGbrown, here’s the nail polish haul. 😂 These are from late November and early December sales. Considering how many other sales I passed up (including Zoya’s, amazingly), I think I did pretty good at not going full tilt. 

Cirque Colors: 

I need to do some brush swapping: some of these have Cirque’s narrow brush instead of their wide brush.GWP: set of 5 minis.

Yeah, I swapped out these annoying China Glaze brushes + caps with Glisten & Glow’s wide brushes + caps.

Velociraptor is a Mooncat rewards freebie. On that swatch stick, the nail has no top coat (this is a matte polish) and the stem swatch is covered with a glossy top coat. I like to swatch mattes this way because top coat often brings out or mutes certain colors/effects in them. 

The 2 cat-faced bottles are glow in the dark polishes from Mooncat’s Nightmare Before Christmas collection. They glow green. 

And I finally caved and bought Sticky Icky. 😄

Color4Nails: 

Laenor’s swatch stick shows 2 coats on the nail and 1 coat on the stem. That grey jelly’s opaque in 2 coats. (I usually swatch plain jellies as 2 coats.)

When one of your favorite polish brands releases a bunch of plain jellies. 😅 I’d say “at least I didn’t buy the blue ones” if I hadn’t placed a second order to get those, too. They’re all from the “Blood and Fire” collection, hence the Game of Thrones/House of the Dragon names. I could’ve stopped my Phoenix spree there, but noooo… 

4 of these are from the “Paint the Town Red” vampires collection, including Blade which is magnetic. Oops 13 is from Phoenix’s mystery bag collection.

@WinglessOne, you and @RGbrown are making it hard not to go for another polish haul. 😆 But I should hold off until I’ve at least caught up on my previous orders. 😬 

Even with my phone and laptop picking up the colors differently, that Cirque Colors All In definitely pops on the screen! As does that shift on Clionadh Niello. Always nice to see your additions to your Phoenix collection.

Ooh wow!! So much gorgeous polish. (The Lemon Ice one from China Glaze 🤩 I hope that formula is nice and co-operative. I'm stoked to see you got Twinkle Tweed! That's one that is on my "most definitely" list, I can't help it when it comes to bar glitter, but i missed the sale so I'll have to wait a bit. 

Those Phoenix jellies, swoon! I keep looking at them going "but I have most of those shades already", but something about jellies always pulls me in. And the shifty Phoenixes, holy mackerel, they're all gorgeous 😍

I don't think I knew What's Up did a mystery polish, I completely slept on so many sales this year. It's gorgeous!

Aw, thanks @RGbrown ! And yeah, I said the same thing about those Phoenix jellies as I added each one to cart. 🙃 Though there is one, Rhaenyra, that’s not quite like any other plain jellies in my collection… it may be close to another one, but different enough for me to justify. (Unlike all the others in that order. 🤦‍♀️) That whole order was a case of me saying “oooh I have to try Phoenix’s plain jelly formula, I’ll just get a couple shades for testing purposes” and quickly losing control. 

Avoiding sales was hard this year! I didn’t even know Zoya was doing 70% off again until after I’d already placed other orders. By then, I was already beyond my polish budget so I forced myself to pass up that sale. Too bad, because I’d have bought several more Magical PixieDusts (still annoyed that Zoya now calls all their PD’s “Magical” but whatever). Good thing for my wallet though! I hope Zoya’s making 70% an annual BF thing. I also have a “next cart” wishlist ready at Cirque for their next sale, though I should probably jump on a couple things in their current clearance sale. ANYway, I don’t doubt at all that Twinkle Tweed will be yours soon enough. 😄
