Happy Holidays, Beautiful BIC'rs!!
@Buootiful, Ole Henriksen is a great brand. The OLEHENRIKSEN Strength Trainer Skin Barrier Moisturizer with Peptides and Niacinamide 1.7 oz/ 50 mL is one of many of their skincare products that have worked well for me. Happy birthday month! 🎉
Looking forward to it then, thanks @itsfi
@Buootiful Amazing hauls! I agree the RB sweatshirts and pants are so comfy and soft.
They really are a great use of tactile clothing therapy-so warm and comforting 🥰 @SportyGirly125
You RB clothes look so cozy and comfy @Buootiful 🤩
I'm sorry to hear your order was lost and you missed out on some things you really wanted, it's so awful when that happens. 😭
Thank you! @CynthieLu

Sorry about the order snafu, @Buootiful 😕. I'm glad that at least it was able to be reordered!
Thanks and the Strawberry one is still oos 😭. I hope they're not reformulating the non shimmer ones. @CookieGirl1
Nice hauls, @Buootiful ! I'm sorry your order was lost--it's always the one you wanted most! 😖 Enjoy your goodies!
Ikr? I guess it's the law of the universe. @Titian06
I have used that gel moisturizer , love the scent of it and how it easily absorbs into my skin. The clothes sound perfect . Happy birthday! @Buootiful
Thank you😘. Yesss, it smells like orange dream ice cream 🥰 @CorgiMommy
Violette_FR sale:
Notes (swatches are in another spoiler at end of post):
Petal Bouche shade Coeur Infidèle - I love shade Amour Fou so much, I knew I also needed this raspberry shade. I waited all year for Violette’s 20%-off holiday sale. Everything I’ve ever said about Amour Fou also applies to Coeur Infidèle, except this time the velvet rose petal effect is pink instead of red. Super happy to add this to my lipstick hoard!
Bisou Blush shade Melanie - my first V_FR blush. It’s very lightly rose scented, not strong enough to cause headaches or trigger a migraine. These blush sticks are marbled; I may have lucked out by getting one with mostly darker color marbling. 😄 It’s creamy, but not emollient enough to feel like it’d slide off my cheek within 2 hours. Blends easily with fingers or a brush, though I haven’t tried the brush built into the stick yet. (I’ve used my trusty Sephora Pro 99 instead.)
Boum-Boum Milk - another item I had on my “next holiday sale” list, specifically to use on my chronically dry body skin this winter. This unscented mist has a promising INCI list of humectants and moisturizers. The pump sprays a much finer mist than I expected—finer than the Glow Recipe watermelon mist. It does feel nice on the backs of my hands, but I can tell it won’t be enough on its own to keep my skin happy. Eh, I always planned to use it beneath a moisturizing cream anyway, and it should do well sandwiched between a moisturizer and a hydrating toner on my body.
Invisible Bandage - curiosity made this happen. Since perimenopause has (re)jumpstarted hormonal acne, I’m sure I’ll have ample chances to test this over an open wound soon. 🙄 I doubt it’ll be as protective as a hydrocolloid patch or petrolatum, but hopefully I can apply makeup more smoothly over it vs. those other 2 options.
Sephora Cyber Week:
Notes:
MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Skin Face Essentials – Longwear Full Face Cream Palette Palette 2: Tan to Deep - I can finally take this off my Loves List! 😂 Haven’t dipped into it yet, but I can already imagine various ways and reasons to use it.
MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Seal 0.4 oz/ 11 g - a wonderful product I often forget I have, and forget to recommend to folks trying to keep eyeliner from smudging/transfering. I’ve used it both mixing medium style and overcoat style to keep makeup (usually winged liner) in place all day.
MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Color Pencil Extreme Waterproof Lip Liner 608 Limitless Brown - any lip product with “Extreme Waterproof” in its name is begging me to test it. I held off on these liners because of the shade range (I already have enough liners in these shades of pink, berry, and red), but finally decided to try one of the browns. Keeping it out where I’ll see it and remember to test it.
Side note: I miss the days when Sephora carried nearly all shades of the original Artist Color Pencils. Shade Absolute Emerald is the perfect lip liner shade for Bite Amuse Bouche shade Kale—and that lipstick needs a liner to keep it from feathering/bleeding.
GWP: Lancôme Lip Idôle Squalane-12 Butterglow™ Hydrating Lip Balm - something I haven’t tried before. Gotta set it out so I’ll remember to test it soon.
Danessa Myricks sale:
Notes:
Smooth FX Refining Gel - a silicone-based mattefying primer I bought as a gift for someone. I do have an older bottle for myself but don’t use it very often. It’s not bad at all though, unless you hate that slippery silicone primer feel. I can’t say it really blurs pores, but it does help keep my oily nose from breaking up any makeup that covers it.
Colorfix Matte shade Joy - sure, I could just custom-mix 2 or 3 Colorfixes I already own to create this color. Oooor I can buy a pre-mixed tube! 🙃 That’s the internal debate I’ve had each time I’ve bought a matte Colorfix shade that’s not a primary color. I wasn’t sure if Joy was very close to Chosen, a shade I already own, so I swatch-compared them and nope, they’re quite different. 👍
Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Moisture Repair Balm Serum with Hyaluronic Acid and Squalane 1.41 ... - another item I bought to gift away.
GWP: Q-Tips x DMB Precision Tips - I use cotton swabs to clean/fix eye and lip makeup. I prefer pointy-tipped swabs because they can get into the tight spaces around my eye, plus they’re quicker to use for lipstick cleanup. So of course I wasn’t about to turn down this freebie.
Swatching most of the things:
I’ve done pretty well with not going crazy overboard with holiday sales so far. Well, in the beauty/cosmetics category anyway. 😅
great haul @WinglessOne ! I almost caved on the Violette sale but held off. Glad to hear you liked what you got.
Nice haul @WinglessOne ! The MUFE palette looks so good!
Thanks @faeriegirl !
I have never tried Violette FR, how does it compare to the REFY Lip Blush Wine ? Oh, I was trying to be good but now I have FOMO for 30% off Makeup Forever. Im always drawn to that cream palette . Ooh, I wonder if they'll make more of those DM tips. The creme shop has pointies in a jar at Ulta but don't know if they cone separately. @WinglessOne
@Buootiful Q-tips has made those double-ended pointy swabs for a long time. The ones in my order were a co-branded GWP, but you can buy them elsewhere today. Walgreens sells a box of 150 or 170 Q-tips Precision Tips for around $4. (That’s where I usually get mine.)
I’ve never tried REFY’s Lip Blush. In fact, I don’t think I’ve tried anything by REFY yet… wish I could remember why. 🤔 Next time I’m in a Sephora store, I’ll have to swatch some of those products. The Violette_FR blush is meant to be used on cheeks (even has a built-in brush on the other end of the stick); it’s not a lip product. Violette does sell a couple lip balms though. The Bisou Balms are sheer matte color, buildable to demi-sheer, but they have a drier texture than you’d expect from a balm (even a matte one) so I always wear Aquaphor Ointment under mine. The other balm is the much newer Bisou Jelly which is apparently very sheer and emollient; I don’t have any of those, but Sunnysmom does and she’s reviewed them a couple times on BIC.
MUFE’s having a 25% off sale now through end of 12/16 PT. Not quite 30% but still a good deal, if you’re still interested in one of the face palettes! Oh wait, and MUFE’s at 7.5% at Rakuten right now! Heck, I’m tempted to place an order direct from the brand myself now. 😂
You have the best hauls! @WinglessOne.
I hope the new extreme MUFE liner works out for you, is it one you sharpen or does it twist up? Long wearing does sound like a challenge, I mean once they put it in the name, we gotta figure out if it really is. 🔎😉
