Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

Welcome back to the deal sharing fun! Deals shared here may also be posted to my blog (same name as the thread) unless you write for BT only. If I share your deal, I will always thank you here. I will heart every deal I see (without an outside or cheat link) to acknowledge it.

Beautytalk (the forum) does not allow outside links. A heart with no comment means I already have the deal or am deciding not to list it. Please list the retailer (without the link or cheat link; dot com) if it is not mentioned in the picture. Mods come in more often when they see any type of link. Thanks for sharing (original deals and repeats are welcome)! Please also share any deal haul you want, especially mystery gifts.

Discussion is encouraged. A lot of questions come with certain deals or retailers. When I see questions I can answer, I will respond (unless the poster consistently ignores me or someone else already answered the complete question). I read all the main posts (so no need to tag me). If you're replying to a post that is not near the top of the thread and want me or a specific person to see it, please tag us.

If you're posting about something on sale at Sephora, please share it here:

I thought I edited this to leave a message here, but after reading some private messages, I realize it did not take. This time, I will make sure it does before I sign off. Instead of waiting until I can return to reading every message to return at all, I will just pop in on certain days. I hope everyone is doing well. For me, some days are better than others.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

There are so many great deals at so many different places, it makes you wonder why some companies are scaling back.  How can they compete? @pixiedust2

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

Lol..and I just made platinum for the first time. I feel like I'm always a year or two behind...I made rouge just a few months before it got really crappy...and now ulta?

Can someone send me a memo when they find a good company so I can hit top status before it goes south? Lol

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

@pinyo I'm right there with you. Hit rouge for the first time at the end of 2015 ( like 12/31) and platinum for the first time this (2016) year. So late to the game.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

That sounds like us and restaurants (and hairdressers.)  Every time we find one we use as our "go to," they close down or leave.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

Haha. I prefer to shop the specific deal instead of being loyal to one company, so I say play the field. Shop the one that is best in the moment.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

That's smart, I guess I should start doing that too

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

Ulta is known for coupons just as Birchbox is known for review points. I am unsure either can reinvent the wheel at this point, because the customers will likely revolt. I am still with Birchbox, but I've read they are not doing well.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

I agree. I had birchbox for two years but quit after they changed the review-for-points program. And stopped giving as many coupons and acknowledging anniversaries, etc. plus customer service went downhill too.

As for what pixie said, I agree that Ulta's GWP haven't been as great lately but I got sent like 3 or 4 unique codes for 20% off that ended just two weeks ago. That's pretty generous.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

I wondered about that, @notcreative.  Something about Birchbox seems so sad lately, like they just don't have the energy the used to display anymore.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

I'm having issues with the second bag. I have $78 worth of skincare in my bag, but the cosmetic gwp bag is still trying to charge me $75. Any help?

@notcreative

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

I just called Ulta & they said that corporate is working on the situation.

They gave me two options: 1. Wait for it to be fixed on the website or 2. Place the order & they will refund after it ships. They also gave me a reference number for when I call back.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

Edit: I just realized you were referring to the affiliate bag. It is not working for me either. That is the listed start time, so Ulta must have delayed it.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

Oh those little butts! They delayed it haha. Well. Guess we'll all have to wait. I bet they're trying to get a wave to make a purchase with this bag, have it go OOS, and then purchase again for the makeup bag lol.

PSA: EVERYONE, HOLD OFF ON YOUR PURCHASE UNTIL 1/8! Lol

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

Hmmm...I wonder if it will be available in 7 minutes or 1 hour and 7 minutes, when it is officially 1/8  on the West Coast since the first one is available now on the East Coast.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

@pinyo But isn't today 1/8 though?? I think maybe it will go live in a few hours...it seems their system hasn't reset fully for the new ad yet.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

Oh you're right...ahhh the time zones are throwing me off. I was thinking it's now Sunday 1/7 lol. I guess we all gotta wait for a few hours, maybe they're just being slow

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

I tested the $70 bag before it officially hit midnight central. It was not working yet. Since it started working after 10, their systems updated. They must have just decided to delay the start. Maybe, they are waiting for her to post a video first. I know I looked for a video to link to her if she had one. I did not see one.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

Could you tell me how to get it to work @notcreative. I added $78 of dermalogica and the skincare bag marks as free, but the cosmetic doesn't. It tries to charge me $75

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

Wow, this just might push me over the edge to use 2000 points.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

Colourpop is doing a free ultra matte mini with the purchase of a liner and lippie stix in specific combinations listed on their website. The free ultra matte is the same color as the lip liner in the combo.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

I was checking out at Blue Mercury and the Caudalie Mask was one of the 3 complimentary samples. Pictured is the .8 oz one so it's a nice deluxe size! I have chosen deluxe size samples from them and received an actual DS... so it's most likely not deceptive!

Blue mercury also offers numerous GWP (requires a code and different buy-ins).
