Advent Calendars 2024 - Let the Unboxings Begin!!

The holiday countdown has begun!! 🎁  Please share your advent calendar unboxings. 😍

Whether you open all the doors to your calendar at once, or whether you open a box one day at time and follow the traditional schedule (e.g., 24 day unboxing beginning on 12/1 and 12-day calendar unboxing beginning 12/25).

For those of us who just can't wait to see what goodies are in our advent calendars and are opening all the doors/boxes at once before the end of the season, please consider hiding your unboxing post behind a spoiler tab so those who want to be surprised day by day can still do so.

Diptyque Day 6

This box is the largest square in the advent calendar and had me curious because I wasn’t sure what Diptyque carried that was around this size and shape. One way to find out ….

Ooooh, these are pretty. 🤩 But what are they? 🧐 I think they’re Christmas tree decorations. 🎄Or maybe decor for a gift box? Hmmm… The smaller one is going to be repurposed as bookmark for the book I’m (supposed to be 😬) working towards finishing by the end of the year.

@itsfi  Oooooo beautiful! 😍 I can see both ornaments or gifting tag additions! But the bookmark idea is wonderful!! Maybe when you’re feeling better you will have more energy to read!

@ather, this is really such a lovely treat. Ohhh, to be able to read without a coughing spell. It's gotten better but I tried reading yesterday, while sipping on some tea. I ended up just sipping on the tea the whole time. Hahaha!

Oh these are darling @itsfi . Diptyque can go 1 more step and make them have scents so you can use them as car air fresheners. Wait I think you can still modify them 😘 (maybe)

You are onto something here @blackkitty2014. I think they have a car air freshener but something like this would be so fun for the holidays. Dear Diptyque, my friend blackkitty2014 has something that may be of interest to you ..

@caitbird, I've been repurposing post-its, random unused napkins, coffee sleeves, the book itself as a bookmark - this one will be the prettiest yet. 😆

@Sunnysmom, they can make for fun treats and there are ones to suit different preferences. There are still many advent calendars available if you really did want one. I noticed some being discounted today as well.

Good to know thanks @itsfi ! I’m not sure where I’d start after seeing so many pop up! Gotta think very fast! They were one of my favorite childhood memories so it would be fun to do one. 💞 They didn’t involve makeup way back when but I wish they had! 🤣

Diptyque Day 5

This one holds memories. 

Diptyque launched Orpheon as part of its celebration of its 60th anniversary. It was/is an honor to the bar by the name that was located near Diptyque's headquarters in the 1960s, where the three co-founders were said to meet often to discuss the brand they started. Memories.

Spring 2021 - most states (including mine) were still under stay-at-home orders. I was caught by surprise when Diptyque reached out to see if I was interested in taking part in an online masterclass for Orpheon. I said 'yes'. And so began my adventures,and memories, with Orpheon.  

Orpheon is a mix of clean, powdery and earthy/woody, but not in the traditional way those scent families manifest themselves. At least on me they're not. It starts off with a clean, with ever-so-subtle resinous note of ...  evergreens, maybe? It reminds me more of a man's aftershave (in a good way) than a fresh, foresty winter wonderland "clean". The powdery notes are subtle and delicate. Then there's a soft smokiness that weaves itself in and out and mixes well with the other notes. Oftentimes I find smokier scents can overwhelm other notes in a fragrance but that is not the case here. 

Though it feels more like a skin scent on me, it is very long lasting. I had it on for 12+ hours and while the notes that I pick up vary during that time period, they're there. Fragrances wear differently on everyone depending on skin chemistry and this is definitely true of Orpheon. I've heard that people are either definite fans of this perfume, or are definitely not fans. I'm in the former group and really enjoy this fragrance. Very happy to see it in the advent calendar.

@itsfi  Wow! Such a special scent for you! How cool that you got picked to do a masterclass! That sounds like such an honour! I can see why this holds such a special space for you! The scent sounds wonderful. Do they have it only in skin scent or also as their candles?

@ather, Orpheon comes in a liquid and solid perfume and a body wash. I don't think it's been made into  candle ... yet.
