NARS Advent Calendar $150

This is the only advent calendar tempting me so far. Too bad I already own several of the products. I love the punk them Nars went with this year.

Anyone else stumped by the choice to include two travel concelears in very different shades? Ones pink based and the other is yellow- it would take one special individual to be able to successfully utilize them both!! It seems like such a good value but that’s really throwing me off...

@mermaid805 I’d guess a few reasons... 1. Highlighting or color correcting. 2. It’s a cult loved concealer so including it makes sense, but obviously one shade doesn’t fit all. If one doesn’t work, maybe the other will. It means sacrificing another product but having just one shade might deter people from buying the set. 3. Gifting. If someone is breaking the set up in to gifts, two people can get a concealer. 

Dunno if any of that is why, just my thoughts!

@lachaton I was really bummed to see the contents. I don’t know many people in my life who would enjoy them much. It’s a pass for me based on the description and the price:

I completely agree, @PinkEvergreen. I picked up the SC advent calendar last year (without reading spoilers) and I was very disappointed - especially with the cheaper items like stickers. I'll definitely be passing again.

The packaging is nice, but I'd really prefer to see Sephora highlight some of their great products (because there are some!), even if that did mean it was slightly more expensive. It's a really underrated brand, and I'd love to see it showcased. 

I'd love to see something like this for contents:

Cream blush or highlight stick (even a mini)
A cream lip stain in a colour other than Always Red
Eyeliners! The SC ones are so great. Throw in a couple minis in different shades - something pretty and showy for the holidays, and something neutral but not black like Flirting Game.
A sheet mask - I'd love to see one of the new holiday ones included. A couple of these would be great, or the hand/foot masks.
A makeup sponge - sure. It's fine.
The lipstories lipstick is a great idea, but I think it would be better if it was one of the holiday tubes.
Small travel pack or individual face wipes.
The SC brush cleaner! just a small bottle. 
Even some of the SC clay mask foils would be good for smaller items.
Travel mini brush or mini silicone glitter applicator.

@lachaton I agree 100%. I’ve been so happy with my Sephora Collection purchases this year, ranging from C$4 to C$25. I love gifting my favourites in baskets. This calendar misses so many opportunities for Sephora to self-promote.
