Retinol skincare for sensitive skin

@fuzbeauty you'll want to look for a low % (the highest percent of retinol is 1%), one that is another step away from retinoic acid (like granactive retinoid or retinyl palmitate, a product that is encapsulated or an ingredient that might mimic vitamin a like bakuchiol 

• The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid* 2% Emulsion 1 oz/ 30 mL <-- this one is a granactive retinoid 
• Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask 2.3 oz/ 70 mL <-- this one is encapsulated 
• Shani Darden Skin Care Texture Reform™ <-- this one is a retinyl palmitate but also has lactic acid
• Herbivore Bakuchiol Anti-Aging Serum <-- not a retinol but may be an alternative 

Some other tips to help with irritation 

• Start low and slow so only use retinol once a week and then a couple weeks later up it to twice a week and then increase accordingly to your comfort level (you do not need to use it nightly) 
• Omit any other actives you are using (no exfoliating) 
• Apply to dry skin not damp
• Apply after moisturizer as a last step 
• Use with a niacinamide product (like The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Oil Control Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL of The INKEY List Niacinamide Oil Control Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL )
• Remember to wear sunscreen

the inkey list has a retinol substitute, and i've heard from a dermatologist that "sandwiching" your retinol in between you moisturizer can lessen the irritation and lessen the chances of purging.
