Retinol for dry skin

I need recommendations for retinol for dry skin

Re: Retinol for dry skin

@IshPicturesque I've been seeing more and more oils and moisturizers include retinol in them.  However, I think the best way to go may be to start with a low concentration of retinol and move your way up.  For example, CeraVe has a retinol product that is suspected to have just .01% retinol.  You could start there - esp since the price is right.  I would follow it up with a face oil and/or a moisturizer.  And of course, take it slow and use it 1-2x a week at first.

Then you could move onto a .1% or a .25%.  I like retinols that list their concentration, so I know what I'm getting.  I think it's esp important with that sort of ingredient.  If a product doesn't have the concentration listed, though, I've found that it means it's on the low end.

Good luck!  Let us know how it goes!  🙂

Re: Retinol for dry skin

I absolutely love The Ordinary's Granactive Retinoid Emulsion. I also like their Retinol 1% in Squalane. Which I can see being a really great option for dry skin since it's an oil.

The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion for Wrinkles and Uneven Texture 1 oz/ 30 mL  The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane, Signs of Aging Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL

Hi, @IshPicturesque

The Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM Night Serum 1 oz is a good one. It has micro-encapsulated, time-release retinol, and is formulated to be gentle on all skin types. FWIW - QVC often has deals and value bundles on the Peter Thomas Roth products, although I would steer clear of any of his retinols in a package larger than the 3-ish ounce one, as retinol loses its efficacy over time. HTH.
