How to get smooth waves with wand

My hair is wavy and very frizzy. When I blow dry it or air dry it and brush it gets very frizzy. So I always either just wear it up or straighten it or using a curling wand. When using the wand I like the shape of the curl and everything and it holds all day but the thing is my hair is still frizzy ish. I don’t like using hairspray because most make it frizzier and heavy. What products can I use to get Smooth waves with out my hair getting oily or being too stiff? Thanks

Using a heat-protectant before you curl it and applying a light mouse afterwards can help a lot. When I used to curl my hair I would wait until all the curls had cooled, carefully use a pick and softly pick through my curls.  Then I would flip my hair over get a squirt of mouse, rub it in both hands, and scrunch my curls with the mouse.  I found that my curls were softer and more natural looking using that technique.
