Why are women’s perfumes drastically more money for less product as compared to the men’s cologne?

I just noticed in the Sephora favorites for men’s cologne most of the samples can be redeemed for bottles that range from 1.7 fl oz to 3.4, but most of the women’s are for 1 fl oz to some 1.7 gl oz and the rare 3.4 do oz. Then, I went to compare the prices noticing this, and I further realized that men’s cologne are typically cheaper for larger quantities. For example the 5 fl oz bottle for the Victor and rolf for women is $215, while for men it’s $150. That’s $65 more for almost the same product! Not to mention all the other products where there arebottles for the price of maybe 3.4 fl oz for women you can get a 6 fl oz for men.

@Tree21 In general, all women's products have pink tax. Meaning if it's geared to women and has a man's counterpart it will be higher priced. It's marketing and usually 'mainly' colors for the packaging. Sometimes it is the exact same product/ingredients.

Yeah, I knew about the pink tax, but I just realized it in perfumes. I was hoping to find a new perfume brand that doesn’t discriminate based on gender.

Yes, concentration correlates with price.

Hi @Tree21 ! Women’s fragrances have higher concentrations of perfume oil than men’s colognes. That’s also why women’s scents tend to last longer throughout the day while men’s colognes fade out quicker. Now, that’s not always the case, but usually the more concentrated the scent the greater the price.

That would make sense, but Idk how I feel about that. Why would the same company produce similar products at lower grades of quality for men?
