Sephoria NYC 2023

Now that the word is officially out….who will be attending Sephoria NYC 2023 on September 29-30, 2023?

I won’t be able to attend in person this year (I plan to attend virtually) but I know other members who are already planning and going.  If I had to choose a session it would be session 3 with Patrick Ta and Natasha Denona. 

Please share your excitement and even photos and experience here if you do go.

@SportyGirly125 you're right, I've seen a LOT of people who are pretty upset about the bag being delivered so late and without much communication regarding the shipping.

Seeing everyone's pictures is giving me a bit of FOMO!! Y'all look like you had a blast (minus the rain, travel issues etc). 

I didn't even really attend the virtual Sephoria this year. Not only was there no real reminder for registered people (or maybe just for me?), but I was planning on attending on Saturday. On the week before the event I had a faculty job interview and the week after a conference I'm planning happened, so I didn't have a ton of time. Then saw the lipstick game and whatnot only working on Friday, felt a little disappointing and unfair. Not the mention the whole virtual swag bag shipping (lol, label created, sure, let me know when it actually ships).

@haleyvvvv fingers crossed on the results from your interview but that's such a bummer about the virtual experience 😕.  I was a little frustrated by the game as well although I at least was able to make it work.  I'm sorry that it was a dud for you, though!

Thank you, @CookieGirl1!! I could have tried to make it work a bit more, and now saying the only thing I was getting out of it was a chance to win some points, but seeing as that was only available on one day made me not want to try so hard.

@haleyvvvv  Awww.   I forgot all about virtual Sephoria until we were waiting around on Friday after the cancellation to see if we could get our swag bags for session two.  We were bored and found a QR code on the wall which led us to virtual sephoria!  We thought ‘why not get in virtually?’  I got in and ran into walls for a few minutes and was over it! 🤪. I am not a good video gamer.

Sunday morning. Last day in New York! Not a cloud in the sky.

Got up early and went for a leisurely stroll in the morning, and grabbed a green juice on my way back to the hotel. Caught up on some work emails and then went downstairs to meet fatimamummy in the lobby for breakfast ~ coffee and avocado toast, which I forgot to take a photo of - boo, Fi, boo! Afterwards, I headed back to my room to take my September favorites photo, do the last bit of packing and some reflecting on my trip - I wasn't able to do everything I wanted to, which is fine, another reason to come back. the the only thing I really missed out on was having an opportunity to meet @Kim888 - another time! I took a cat nap, and did a final scan of the room to make sure I didn't leave anything behind before heading downstairs, to do a little more work and to see if I might be able to see some of the other ambassadors before having to leave for the airport.

To my great delight, I was able to say good-bye in person to @heartsmyface @missjeanie @fatimamummy @Mellmars1185 @Guessgal before I was off to catch my flight (and was able to say good-bye to @Samtian @danielledanielle @Mcakes @sister13 and others the night before). And, to @ElleElleG who very thoughtfully came over to visit for a little bit before I had to leave for the airport - thank you, thank you!

On the ride to La Guardia, my Uber driver regaled me with his business plans for making it big in NYC, before asking me what was the best part of my visit. Easy question - Meeting up with friends. Making new ones. 💗

A coworker of mine was in New York the week before me, during Tropical Storm Ophelia, on a trip with her girlfriends. She remarked that it "was seriously one of [her] favorite vacations ever." I thought, 'wow, that's impressive." After last week, I completely understand what she meant. Sure, New York is fantastic! With its bright lights. Monuments. Good food. Culture. Shopping. Museums. But the best part, the moments that last (and the ones I miss even though it's only been a week since I was there), are the ones spent with friends made on and through BT/BIC. Thank you to New York and all the folks - the BT/BIC beauties, their fellas that joined us, @TeamBIC, and SEPHORiA - for all the memories. I cherish them and all of you! 😘

@itsfi You said it all perfectly!  I'm still in a bit of a Sephoria haze and can't yet believe it's over!  Meeting everyone is absolutely the best part.  Felt like we've all known each other for decades!

Sephoria haze is right @missjeanie. Going into it, I was already so excited to meet everyone and y’all blew whatever great expectations I had out of the park. You ladies (and your fellas) are amazing and made this trip the best. The. Best. I didn’t realize how much I needed and enjoyed it and everyone until I was taking care of the last bit of packing that last morning. So many fun moments, so many fabulous  memories! 🥰🥰🥰

@itsfi I'm the same... Everyone was so much more fun and more fabulous than I'd hoped!  I feel like I'll never miss Sephoria again.  I'm a lifer now.  Regular life seems so dull now... I might need my @heartsmyface endorsed hangover patches to get over the high of the weekend!
