I was so thrilled to hear from @TeamBIC that I was chosen to attend the Holiday Preview 2019. When I arrived at the event, I checked in with Sephora staff and headed up to the 21st floor of the Glasshouse Chelsea.
Oh my gosh, what a beautiful event space with floor to ceiling windows offering panoramic views of New York City. The space was decked out in holiday decor, trees, snow, and get this-ice blocks with the holiday products frozen inside all over the space as props with different functions such as plaques/photo pieces, stands for all of the stations, seats/benches, and even the drink station was made of ice with cut outs to keep the drinks chilled.
Right by the elevator I was greeted with some yummy bubbly and a lovely Sephora holiday themed giant plaque, perfect for a photo op! As I continued inside, there was a beautiful centerpiece arrangement of a dining table full of all the holiday products and sets, with utensils, cups, etc, stools for sitting so that we can swatch (and squeal with delight!), all surrounded by holiday lights in a "house" shape.
As I made my way inside, I walked over to @KatieBT and @LexBT to say hello and hug and catch up since our time apart. I also wanted to know who the other secret guest was, and was delighted to find out it was @michelleshops . At this point I was introduced to Sephora's beauty directors, David Razzano, Jeffrey English, and Myiesha Sewell. The conversations I had with David, Jeffrey, and Myiesha may have been my favorite part of the event because I've always been interested in the creative geniuses behind why this brand has always captivated me. They were so down to earth and fun to talk to. We discussed the different products and brands we love, the holiday sets, makeup techniques, etc. Special shoutout to David for the long conversation we had relating to how we both introduced our mothers to a new world of makeup and how enjoyable it was to introduce them to not just products that work better and meaningful brands, but how beauty is an art form involving creative self-expression.
After this I enjoyed my bubbly and walking around the space to see the innovative stations they had setup for makeup/skincare products, fragrance and hair, Sephora collection, and Sephora favorites. I of course also took this opportunity to take selfies and other photos. While doing this, I ran into one of Sephora’s brand ambassadors and we talked about the Sephora holiday products. IMHO, I think Sephora’s holiday sets offer such an incredible value and great quality for gifts (or treats…because…treat yo’ self!).
Once Michelle got there and the whole gang was present, we engaged in some major swatching of all the holiday goodies. Can’t wait till you lovelies see them all, Katie will be sharing the swatch photos she took of my arms decked out in product on both sides, and you can’t see fragrance but I also tried all the fragrance sets, the Replica one is on my wish-list and the YSL lipstick set.
After more swatching and photos galore, we took our escapades to the city streets (because the night was young!) and headed over to Cookshop for dinner. We discussed the BIC and what we loved about it, features we miss or wish we had, and I must add I made a huge plug for our Canada friends in the hopes that we can convene for an event there sometime.
After dinner, Lex and Katie, because they’re sweethearts, surprised us with two giant shopping bags stuffed to the brim with some of the holiday offerings.
I am so incredibly thankful to be part of this community, and thank you again Sephora & TeamBIC for all that you do for us!
