under eye

for a while I've struggled with dark undereyes. not sure if there's a specific cause but my undereyes are quite dark and i look tired and sick all the time. i require a LOT of layering of foundation and concealer to make it unnoticeable. i would love some suggestions for eye creams that can help reduce darkness and such

Re: under eye

I have the same. If you tilt your head from an overhead light and see it change its the bone structure and you'd need a light reflecting concealer (Smashbox, Mac highlight pen, YSL touch eclat) if it's darkness dye to the colour of the skin there then you need a colour corrector to balance out the undertone (yellow for purple, peach for blue, orange for purple brown) Charlotte Tilbury undereye corrector for example. You would add concealer over this after dry. Mine is the bone structure. Once I realized what it actually was, the bone shadow or the colour of my skin it was a game changer for me. No more wasted products. Hope that helps.

Yes it's very good to be a apart of such community where you can get plenty of information about the makeup and skin care.

Re: under eye

@an44ya  This really depends on what’s causing the darkness. If it’s genetic/hereditary, then no topically applied treatment will help and your best bets are color corrector, concealer, and/or foundation.

Ditto for darkness caused by sunken skin (usually hollow tear troughs): the dark area is actually a shadow. I have this type of undereye darkness. No skincare product will “fix” this. It’s another makeup masking situation. You could also see a board certified dermatologist or your primary care doctor about in-office/clinic procedures, such as injectable fillers—though some docs don’t like to use filler under the eyes.

If your undereye darkness is caused by allergies/constant eye rubbing, an antihistamine can help.

You could have UV damage hyperpigmentation under your eyes. Be sure to bring your sunscreen all the way up to your lower lash line. If chemical sunscreens burn your eyes (I know that pain), try applying a mineral (zinc oxide) sunscreen just around your eyes and a chemical or hybrid sunscreen everywhere else on your face. To reverse the existing hyperpigmentation, look for a serum or moisturizer that contains licorice root, vitamin C, arbutin, and/or vitamin A. My recommendations for vitamin A are retinaldehyde or retinol, but not high strength, and don’t take it all the way up to your lash line. Products to consider include Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Advanced Retinol + Ferulic Triple Correction Eye Serum 0.5 oz/ 15 mL and The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA Hyperpigmentation Serum .

Re: under eye

thank you!! I will definitely take up your suggestions

Re: under eye

It's another cosmetics concealing circumstance. You could likewise see a board guaranteed dermatologist or your essential consideration specialist about in-office/facility techniques
