Raccoon eyes!!!

HELP ME please!!! Every mascara and liner I have ever tried gives me raccoon eyes. I've tried setting sprays and powders also!!! it all looks great for about maybe if I'm lucky, 2 hours then it just goes to pot. I do tend to have oily skin, but I've been using a vitamin C serum the had hyaluronic acid in it. Recommendations, tips, tricks, or whatever are welcome!! TIA

RE: Raccoon eyes!!!

Have you tried the Kat Von D tattoo liner or are you referring to gel liners or pencils. Because it not, this ones pretty good.

@Anonymous

I had the same issue and here are a few things I do to help: 1) I don't use eye cream in the AM if I am going to wear eye makeup that day. The eye cream hydrates the under eye well (too well) and makes my mascara more prone to transfer, even if I use a primer. I also try to avoid getting my AM skin care serums and moisturizer in the under eye area for the same reason. Just be sure to use a good PM eye cream to offset not using one in the AM. I also use an eye sleeping mask a few times a week. 2) Use eye primer under your eye makeup (my personal favorite is the MAC paint Pot) and make sure to you put face primer on your under eyes before applying foundation. 3) Bake your under eyes. You mentioned trying different setting powders and sprays, but have you tried baking your under eyes with a setting power? You can either layer the powder on your under eyes dry with a brush or use a damp beauty blender to apply it. You may have to try both ways to see which method woks best fr you. I really like the results I got with Laura Mercier Loose translucent setting powder, however I have recently been having issues with extremely dry skin under my eyes so I have had to stop using it sadly. I am currently using makeup revolution bake and blot powder applied with a damp beauty blender and the results aren't as good but it looks much better on my super dry skin and it is better than nothing. Also dust a little setting powder over your eyelid after you put on your eye makeup. I prefer setting spray for my whole face so I only use the powder for my eyes then use Urban Decays all nighter setting spray on my whole face after all my makeup is done. 4) What kind of mascara and eye liner are you using? You are going to want an eyeliner that is "smudge proof" so it stays in place better. My personal favorite is the Marc Jacobs gel crayon highliner. I also like the Stila Stay all day liquid liner but liquid liners tend to dry out before I can finish them as I don't wear eye makeup everyday. I also use waterproof mascara but that is more to do with having extremely watery eyes than it is to do with transfer. However, if you are looking for a good waterproof mascara I highly recommend Tarte Lights Camera Splashes! I had a full on breakdown (thanks pregnancy hormones) while wearing it and it didn't run, smudge, or move, not one bit!

I hope some or all of this helps! Good luck 🙂

Thank you for your input!! it was very helpful! I just bought it cosmetics waterproof heroliner(? actual name of liner) liquid liner. I don't wear makeup often so I am not that good at applying it so the associate at the store told me to try that. I have also been using Maybelline total temptation waterproof mascara. I don't usually buy the expensive cosmetics because they go bad before I can finish them. I'm going to try some of your suggestions!!! Thank you again
