New to the world of shadows

I would say I'm good at doing makeup but I never really worked on shadow amd it's been a little hard for me finding the right palette to start with. Any good recommendations for a beginner palette that I can perfect my craft with. Preferably not too many glitters in it, I already have a glitter palette and side note, my ultimate goal rn is to perfect my glitter cut crease.

Re: New to the world of shadows

I recommend my holy grail, the Tartelette in Bloom, it has little to no fallout, and it has perfect everyday shades, that can become dramatic. I also recommend any of the Naked Basics, or Ultimate Basics palette. They have everything you need to create any type of easy look. If your looking for something less pricey and relatively small, try any Smashbox, Tarte, or Naked small palettes. I've tried a lot of them, and they're definitely worth it, but read reviews from people who have your skin type.

Re: New to the world of shadows

Ooh this is so exciting! Shadows are my favorite makeup item and ultimate weakness. I think you've gotten some good suggestions here. The Too Faced Chocolate Bar and Natural Eye palettes are fantastic options for a beginner palette. They blend easily and all of the colors compliment each other.

I also recommend checking out the Lorac Pro palette. Their mattes are so beautiful and I think it would give you a solid range of shadows to mix with your glitters.

Can't wait to hear what you decide to pick up 🙂

RE: New to the world of shadows

I recommend the Too Faced Natural Eye palette - it has some solid neutral mattes in it, which will help with beginners, but also has some subtle glimmers for a pop if you'd like! I also echo the UD original Naked palette.

RE: New to the world of shadows

I really like the too faced chocolate bar palette. The shimmers are perfect and there are a ton of neutral shades. Any of the chocolate bar palettes would be good. They all have a small pop of color as well for when you are ready to play with some color. I have the chocolate bob bon palette because I already have a bunch of brown shade and wanted some more pink tones shades. The packaging is also to die for b

@aleesharose I agree with the UD Naked; I also like Too Faced Natural Eye; you can also consider some four and five shadow compacts by Lancome, Estee Lauder and YSL.

Re: New to the world of shadows

I lie the Urban Decay Naked for a starter. Or - if you want to spend $$$ one of the Tom Ford quads that suit you. Start with 3/4 colors that all work together and with your skin. The huge palettes you can move up to when you find the formula you love. Especially the pallets that have warm, cool and neutral - those are just not for everyone. A waste unless you are truly neutral and can use it all.
