Hi Beauties! What are your best tips for hooded eyes?

Practice cut creases! Creating a cut crease above your nature eye crease will open up to it eyes! Just looking into a mirror and find where your natural crease is and make a mark slightly above it. I have slightly hooded eyelids and this is one of my go to tricks. And I’ll also blend my shadows out further on the edges as well to make my lid appear larger

I agree with the other comments about eyeshadow placement being important (: Having hooded eyes myself a trick that I like to do is to put a darker eyeshadow color a little bit above your normal crease. If you want to do more of a glam eyeshadow I recommend doing a cut crease or a half cut crease. I usually like doing half-cut creases and applying eyelashes and winged eyeliner to make my eyes bigger. I have posted two photos. The photo with the line shows my actual crease and the other shows how much bigger I made my eye with half-cut crease.

Agree with the other comment, Nakia Joy gives good advice on shadow placement and that’s half the battle right there. My other suggestion is to keep mattes in the crease. Shimmer really accentuates the fold on hooded eyes.

@jen1649 Placement of shadow is so important to make hooded eyes look lifted and open! It would take a while to explain here, so my favorite YouTube tutorials are "Hooded Eyes Do's and Don'ts" by Nikkia Joy and anything by Wayne Goss. My eyes look so much better now that I've learned the fundamentals. Hope this helps!
