False eyelash problem!

Hoping someone might be able to provide some ideas / guidance! Has anyone else had this problem?

Quite experienced with makeup but haven’t worn false eyelashes much. Have had them successfully placed by MUAs. I have had lessons with MUAs watch me place them (both strip and individual) and they said I do it correctly.

But 3 times now when applying, I’ve gotten eyelash glue in my eye. No idea how. I never notice it obviously at the time/ there’s no obvious occurrence but later on I notice glue on eyeball. Off to optometrist 3x to flush out.

I don’t know how / why it happens. I wait for glue to get tacky. Don’t use too much glue. Don’t wiggle / move around - try to stick it on once and not move it from there.

I thought perhaps I was accidentally closing my eyes at points and not realising, and maybe the glue was seeping from top to bottom lashes and creating a string when I opened my eye? But I’ve recently noticed a few MUAs I follow seem to always place strip lashes on clients’ closed eyes so I assume that can’t be it?

That’s so strange @Polly741. I would say maybe try a different glue, but usually when they go bad, they get clumpy and solid, not runny. 🤷

What’s the climate like where you are? If it’s humid, that can add to how long it takes for the glue to cure.
