Eyeshadow blending tips

Guys, I desperately need eyeshadow blending tips

Re: Eyeshadow blending tips

I like the smashbox primer and the TULA ones!

Re: Eyeshadow blending tips

A couple tips I have - but definitely check out some tutorials on YouTube. Wayne Goss, Jaclyn Hill and Tati have some great videos!
1) Hold your brush close to the top and apply light pressure when blending

2) Start with light layers of colour and build pigment as you need

3) Use a clean brush to blend out the edges of colour for an airbrushed and seamless finish

4) Apply eyeshadow before foundation and clean up the edges with a wipe and your complexion products

5) Get familiar with your eye shape and where the natural shadows and highlights would sit around your brow bone.

Re: Eyeshadow blending tips

@calegordon1992 hello! I was looking for eyeshadow blending tips as well & came across this. I already do everything you suggested but it still won’t blend. I don’t know how old you are & didn’t look at your profile, but I never had a problem until menopause where my skin has gotten so dry. Maybe you can help me, or maybe someone who is 50+ that reads this. So I use Cerave Hyaluronic Acid Serum then Aveeno w/soy brightening moisturizer at night & before makeup. Prep is eyeshadow primer, then a powder for mature skin so my eyeshadow won’t cling to dryness. Then the eyeshadow with all the correct brushes. Still won’t blend & adheres darker to certain areas. Then it’s near impossible to even that out. Any suggestions from you or anyone is much appreciated!!! 💗

Re: Eyeshadow blending tips

What eyeshadow primer and eyeshadows are you using?
Perhaps liquid and cream shadows will suit your needs better. I do have areas of my eyes that seem to reject pigment or cause me more trouble than other areas. Liquid shadow pigments seem to blend and sit more opaque and blend into those hard to reach or trouble areas a lot better

Re: Eyeshadow blending tips

@calegordon1992 I’ve tried 3 eyeshadow primers & the one lately is Elf which is too drying. I stopped using it but today I thought I’d give it another chance-wrong! 😅 I used to always use concealer then powder after which I think works better. I have a “moisturizing” concealer. Yeah right! It’s better than my others so I’ll stick with that for priming. As far as eyeshadow I’ve been using Milani powdered. I should use creams, you’re right! I’ve tried those little pot cream eyeshadows but they weren’t very creamy so I threw them out. I then bought Clinique crayon & liked it when I tried it in the store but now it doesn’t glide well. It’s gotta be cuz it’s wintertime. I really want a creamy eyeshadow with a wand applicator. Any recommendations? Thank you for helping me 🥰

What’s the first thing you want to learn, I don’t mind giving advice 🤩

Re: Eyeshadow blending tips

@ieatlemons I would watch Jaclyn Hill's Youtube channel.  She has one called blending 101.  Another good one is the one with makeup by Ariel and Patrick Starrr.  Lastly Marlena Stell from Makeup Geek has good ones.
