Calling all Redheads!!

Hey fellow redheads! I don't know about you but black mascara is wayyy too dark for me unless I have a full face of makeup (including bold eyes). Recently I've been using my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel in "Caramel" for my mascara but it isn't quite working enough for me. I tried dark brown mascara but it was still pretty dark😬 I need some suggestions!

Re: Calling all Redheads!!

I love a good brown mascara @kecirulli Clarins Wonder Perfect in Brown or Elisabeth Arden Grand Entrance Mascara in Brown were my go to's. I think brown is much less harsh than black. 🤎

Re: Calling all Redheads!!

Hi All,

I'm new to these groups and just feeling my way around. I started to ask my own question with this title and this one showed up.

There's a beauty box/store called "how to be a redhead ' and they have some of their own products.

I tried the box for a while years ago, and back then, they were just getting started, and, well.  you could tell

Anyway, I check on the site occasionally,  and the one thing I did find that I thought was great, was MASCARA, in FOUR DIFFERENT SHADES, ALL FOR REDHEADS.  For example,  they have one for GINGER, one for AUBURN (that's me), I think a mahogany,  maybe, Anyway, there are 4 different shades of RED. They aren't sold at Sephora,  sadly, but last I checked,  I think Amazon has them, or you can order them directly from their online store.

To be clear,  there'sno bells and whistles,  as far as the formulagoes, but I have the one for my coloring, and it's a goodformulafor every day wear. It's not Dior, which I do love, BTW, when I'm going for a soft but full makeup look, But this mascara is great for those no makeup - makeup days, where you just want a little something.

My eyelashes are long, but they fine, and they are auburn too, like my hair, and unless the sunlight is shining on them, they are almost not visible.

This mascara makes them visible without really changing the color of them much. It's much more natural looking.

Great for the  everyday look I think you're going for!

Hope this helps!!

Re: Calling all Redheads!!

@LadyJenna thanks for sharing. Have you tried the Tower 28 Beauty MakeWaves Lengthening + Volumizing Mascara Drift . The shade is a nice brown and might be give you little more definition on your lashes if you're looking for something like that. I really like the Tower 28 formula in both the black and the brown.

Re: Calling all Redheads!!

Ooh, thanks for mentioning this, @LadyJenna! I've bounced back and forth between browns and blacks (just for the formulas since there are more available) for years and have always wondered why we couldn't get more for those of us with lighter lashes. I'll have to look some more into these.

Diorshow Chestnut Brown (I use waterproof) is beautiful.....

Diorshow Chestnut Brown (I use waterproof) is beautiful...plus the formula (lengthening, voluminous and long-lasting) is my favorite

Re: Calling all Redheads!!

Try a blonde or a light brown mascara, because me being a redhead, darker colors sometimes distort the look or change it. So, in my opinion try one of those,it might help!

Re: Calling all Redheads!!

My favourite is Besame Cosmetics cake mascara in brown-- currently Sephora only sells the black, but I LOVE the brown and you can get it on Besame's website -- sorry I cannot do the accent ague over the 'e' letters in the name, but anyway... LOVE it!

RE: Calling all Redheads!!

DiorShow in Sephora exclusive brown is very pretty

Re: Calling all Redheads!!

I really like Benefit's They're Real Tinted Primer. You can wear it on its own or under mascara. It adds some color but it's not too dark in my opinion.
