Moisturizer for skin under a beard?

Hey there, I’ve been looking for a solution to this for a while, so any help is very appreciated. I’ve tried beard oils and various hydrating sprays, but I can’t seem to moisturize the skin under my short beard. 

I’m on tretinoin 0.05 and have been for a while. My skin has tolerated it well and I’ve found a moisturizer that really helps on most of my face. The problem is the tretinoin spreads across to the skin under my beard and causes tons of flaking. I can’t seem to find a lightweight moisturizer that can effectively get under my beard — the moisturizer I use for my face is pretty thick. Are there any recommendations or really lightweight moisturizer that might get to the skin under my beard?

@dialga I get my husband to use Cerve moisturizing cream for his face and he just rubs it onto his face despite the beard, but at night.  It is a thicker cream but works well. 
a lightweight hydrating moisturizer that would sink in easier is belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb with Peptide and Ceramide , it’s really great for dry skin and the light viscosity will definitely make it easier to reach the skin under your beard.
