Dry skin SOS!

I’ve had dry and sensitive skin my whole life, but recently (maybe a hormonal thing) my skin has been extremely dry. I moisturize, and use serums but lately it feels like it doesn’t work. I’m looking for a cleanser that won’t irritate my skin, something I can use daily—and any lightweight moisturizer I could use as well, suggestions please!

RE: Dry skin SOS!

Proactive green tea moisturizer is great for super dry skin, I always use it when my skin gets bad. Since it’s gotten warmer out and spring has started, my skins peeling and flaking, it’s sooo dry. I’m not wearing make up as much as possible, since we are in quarantine this is a good time to go makeup free - I’m doing this because makeup can make dry skin worse. The Ordinary has some great products too, I’m going to be ordering a chemical peel or something like it from them today. I hear drunk elephant has great products too for dry skin. Remember to keep a moisturizer in the bathroom so you can apply right after patting dry your skin after washing it. I bought Cerave over night moisturizer recently and it’s sooo nice and lightweight. The proactive one I mentioned is also lightweight. Good luck!

Re: Dry skin SOS!

@pizzagirll  My dry zones love Paula’s Choice RESIST Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser. It’s a cream cleanser that works well on my whole face (I have combo skin). I use it each morning. At night, I use Paula’s Choice Hydralight Cleanser. That one’s a low-lather gel cleanser that cleans thoroughly without stripping my dry zones.

My daily AM and PM moisturizer is Youth To The People Superfood Air-Whip Lightweight Face Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid 2 oz / 59 m.... It’s lightweight and effectively moisturizes my whole face, without swamping my oily zone. If you have very dry skin, Superfood might not be enough for you. In that case, I recommend Drunk Elephant Lala Retro™ Nourishing Whipped Refillable Moisturizer 1.69 oz/ 50 mL: I used to use it each winter but couldn’t use it any other time of year because it was too rich for my skin, especially my oily zone.

Another lightweight moisturizer I very recently fell in love with is The INKEY List Vitamin B, C, and E Moisturizer 1.7 oz/ 50 mL. It won’t replace YTTP Superfood for me, but I like to swap it in once in a while. It has a lighter texture than Superfood but still gets the job done.
